Purana Suite Ubud far exceeded my expectations! I highly recommend staying here if you're in the area and I hope to visit again some day. The hotel has a boutique feel to it with ~14 units available. The location is very walkable with many popular attractions close by: Sacred Monkey Forest, Yoga Barn, Ubud Palace, Ubud Water Palace, Starbucks, many shops, restaurants, markets, and money changer locations to choose from. The hotel has a list of free activities onsite, a free shuttle for the central Ubud area, and they can help book or provide advice or book a variety of tours. You can also arrange for pickup at from Denpasar Airport for a fee. I participated in the free Yoga class, which was exceptional. I ate at the Bale Gajah Resto numerous times and had coffee from the The Bale Bar - both had delicious food, beverages and exceptional service. There is a Sunday Sunset rooftop dinner with live BBQ and Balinese dance performances (300,000 IDR per person at the time of this review). I enjoyed both. The infinity pool is very relaxing and was never crowded. Many people swam in it but did so at different times so it's almost like having a pool to yourself. Uttam Spa also offers a variety of services, which is located on the upper level. I enjoyed a massage, which comes with a complementary snack and tea. The rooms are incredibly clean and comfortable. They have all the necessities that travelers come to expect and provide bottled water, which is refilled daily. There is a mini bar with additional drinks and snacks available for purchase. What made my stay the most memorable are the people that work here. EVERYONE is incredibly kind, caring and respectful. They all know your name and remember it. As a solo traveler, I felt completely welcomed just like everyone else. They always ask how your day is, how you slept, if there's anything you need, etc. It doesn't feel like they are asking because they work there - it feels like they actually care. I commented at how friendly everyone is and they responded saying you're like family (probably nicer than some families - haha). 10/10 Recommend!! Thank you Gali, Ketut, Losi, Adhe, Derek, Dika, Deanna, Tini and the rest of the Purana staff for making this trip special. 🙏🏼

From the pre stay communication to the checkout and everything in between Purana does not disappoint. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the food is excellent and the rooms first class. We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa with private pool. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Larger than average pool was lovely to slip into after trapsing the hot streets of Ubud. We took advantage of the rooftop bbq and traditional dance on Sunday nights. Well worth the price and an up close experience you are unlikely to experience elsewhere. Could not fault anything. What can I say about our stay, apart from we were blown away by the hospitality and service by all the staff! The rooms were big, beds comfortable and everything we needed was just a call or request away! The junction outside is busy but don’t let that put you off, this place is an oasis behind those doors! We had the anniversary package and had a beautiful romantic dinner on the terrace , we booked in for sunset dinner with Balinese dancing which was lovely, loved that they remember our names throughout the stay and also when we returned from outside they would say welcome home 💗, we also had a massage which was just so relaxing ! Wish we could have stayed longer ! Thank you to all the staff at Purana you made our stay memorable 💗💗💗

Tout d’abord, je souhaite préciser que la moyenne de nos avis est tres generalement comprise entre 4-5 etoiles. Nous avons conscience que la note attribuée ici, tres eloignée de la moyenne de l’établissement, peut paraitre extrême. Il n’en n’est malheureusement rien. Et pour cause, nous avons choisi ce « boutique hotel » et une villa privative avec piscine pour se faire plaisir, apres un journee chaude à comtempler les alentours. Si vous lisez cet avis, c’est que vous avez le même besoin. Or, la piscine que nous avons trouvée ressemblait plus à un bassin à poisson, eau verte, piscine sale, où l’on voyait à peine nos pieds…,bref un trés trés gros loupé. Ce type d’hotel ne peut pas serieusement proposer une piscine comme cela sans un entretien de fond. La direction a tenté de réagir mais ils n’ont pas été capables de proposer une meilleure prestation. (Proposition d’aller sur une autre piscine d’un batiment occupé…un diner offert n’egalisera pas le prejudice des 3 nuits reservées) Donc faite attention, les photos sont belles, la réalité un peu plus fake…la conception des chambres et des prestations n’est pas à la hauteur du prix proposé. Notons pour être justes, un accueil et un service vraiment gentil et à notre disposition. Quelques restaurants autour au top (notamment le Secred Rice - voir notre avis). Pour 50€ de plus, il y a de bien meilleure adresse autour (@surya kambar, vu de nos propres yeux hélas…). (English) Firstly, I would like to specify that our average rating generally falls between 4-5 stars. We are aware that the rating given here, significantly divergent from the establishment’s average, may seem extreme. Unfortunately, it is not without reason. And for good reason, we chose this “boutique hotel” and a private villa with a pool to treat ourselves after a hot day admiring the surroundings. If you’re reading this review, it’s because you have the same need. However, the pool we found resembled more of a fishpond: green water, dirty pool, barely visible feet… in short, a very, very big disappoin**ent. This type of hotel cannot seriously offer a pool like this without proper maintenance. The management attempted to respond, but they were unable to provide a better service (suggested using another pool in an occupied building… a complimentary dinner does not compensate for the three nights booked). So, be careful, the photos are beautiful, but reality is somewhat different… the room and service design do not match the price offered. To be fair, the reception and service were genuinely kind and at our disposal. Some nearby restaurants were top-notch (especially the Secret Rice - see our review). For just €50 more, there are much better guarantees available (@surya kambar).

Over nine days, every day at Purana Suite Ubud delivered and exceeded my expectations. From the incredible team who worked at the reception, restaurant to hosuekeeping, they were all smiles and genuinely intent in making my stay comfortable and feeling welcomed. My room on the top level was comfortable and generously sized. From my balcony, views of the pool and a beautiful garden. The breakfast menu was full of options and they were generous with what you could order. Catering to both western and indonesian cuisines, delicious. I had breakfast delivered to my room every morning and it arrived as scheduled when i sent in my order the night before. There is beautiful artwork in the restaurant which is a gallery as well so if you are into art, this is a treat. The hotel is located within walking distance to Yoga Barn and a 15 minute motorcycle ride to the Pyramids of Chi. It is a 20 minute walk to the Monkey Forest and along the main road, there are many good restaurants so you don't have to venture far. If you are working remotely, the internet here is fantastic so I never had issues with video calls. I will be back again when I am staying in Ubud. Thank you for an incredible stay.
