基拉維恩環保小屋(Girraween Environmental Lodge)

We just spent a wonderful few days at Girraween and stayed at the environmental lodge. We were very happy with not only the accommodation, which was private, very well equiped and comfortable. Every room had a view of the wonderful bush land and the animals that roamed the area, we sited bower birds for the first time, and had a koala near by. All of that doesn't take away from the wide variety of wallaby on the property, the location next to Girraween National park and the walking tracks though the 400 acre landscape that surrounds the lodges. And the owners are very helpful with everything you ask for. So very wonderful, and the outside world just fades away while staying in this beautiful place. We have been staying at the lodge every year for over 23 years which speaks for itself. The lodges are the perfect log cabins in the woods with enough distance between them that you don’t notice other people there. Lots of wildlife to enjoy and amazing walks nearby and on the property. Lovely places nearby to eat and drink. Paul and Bengu make you feel very welcome and you can join them for feeding the deer in the mornings. This place is the perfect getaway whether you just want to relax or get into the hiking. Highly recommend.

It was very tranquil. 'B' in the front office was a delight. Very clean chalet with a well-appointed kitchen. Gorgeous property with lots of kangaroos and wallabies. We checked in on a very chilly Saturday afternoon. So, our first priority was to get the cabin warm with the fire. The next morning, we cooked a bacon and egg BBQ on our balcony with the warm winter sun shining in on us. Then just a quick drive to Mount Norman Day Use Carpark for a delightful 17km mountain bike ride. Off to some local wineries for a tasting or two. Our 2-night stay just wasn't long enough to fully take advantage of the sights and sounds of Girraween. I'd thoroughly recommend it for explorers, families, couples and those just wanting to step out of the hustle and bustle of life for a while.

I booked it as a birthday weekend for my wife I was a bit hesitant about the no internet or tv as the weather forecast was heavy rain so I took our monopoly and scrabble games with us that hadn't been used in years On arrival we walked in to find a beautiful bush cottage that was beautifuly set up we had bikes with us and explored the trails on the property so many kangaroos and wallabys and there are walks that are well signed on the property and the owners will even send you off with a two way radio for safety there were some other bike tracks locally Ballandene to Stanthorpe but the weather decided to do its best to convince us to do other things plenty of wineries and great places to eat. How did we go without internet or TV ? We talked and played games and they have as many DVDs as Blockbuster used to have, it was great not to have the phones and emails if you need to contact anyone you can get service at the reception. If you want to be on your phone all the time and emails this isn't the place for you! If you want to wind down and talk to each other interact with each other and spend some time with nature and walk or bike with roos and wallabies or cook your bbq with a possum coming to visit and have a family of butcher birds singing happy birthday on the deck in the morning then give this place a visit absolutely loved it !!1!

Stayed 4 nights as part of honeymoon. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Got to feed deer, had a hot spa under the stars two nights in a row. Cabin had everything we needed! And the fire place was heaven on the cold nights. No phone service in cabins was also kinda awesome. Borrowed some DVD movies from reception (100’s to choose from) and snuggled into wife on the super comfy couch in front of the fire. Loved it. Definitely going to be an anniversary celebration venue in years to come

Totally private cosy chalets surrounded by bush teaming with birds, kangaroos and other wildlife, the Lodge offers stunning walks on the property, or 5 minutes drive to the uniquely beautiful national park walks. Each chalet has a fire, well equipped kitchen (gas stove top, microwave, no oven but Weber on the deck), espresso maker ( bring ground coffee). Comfortable king beds ( or king single), electric blankets, large spa bath. No TV, wifi or mobile reception in chalets but good reception at the office and large DVD / board games / book library. Hot outdoor spa (& pool) available to star gaze. It’s a unique piece of paradise and perfect for friends and family. Overseas visitors will be amazed by Giraween.

Chalets are beautiful, loved the common space made home made pizzas on the first night and used the pizza ovens on site was great! Close to national park and walking tracks. Will definitely be back!

These chalets are amazing!! They are so cozy and beautiful. The lovely people at the reception were very welcoming and accomodating. The trip was for my birthday and they hung a happy bday sign and put balloons up in the chalet which was a super nice surprise. There are cute and very polite kangaroos all over the property to greet you. It’s a very nice area for enjoying the bush my partner and I loved it very much and will be coming back!!

We had a fantastic stay at the Girraween Environmental Lodge. The ehalets are nestled in the forest privately and surrounded by native animals. High ceilings, big windows, awesome fireplace, a great veranda and quality natural finishes. Modern bathroom with spa bath and the kitchen is fully equiped with everything for a good cookup. The hot spa under the stars was a real highlight as were the natural granite landscape features on the extensive bush walks. 10/10 recommend.
