We loved our staycation at The Earl. I saw a lot of reviews with complaints about relevant things like parking and not enough hanging hooks for wet towels and suits in the room. Those are accurate, but also not a deal breaker for us. There are some things they could change to make it better, but it looks like they've taken some comments in the reviews and made changes. For example their shuttle van was parked in a neighboring lot, and there's signage about quiet hours. We loved the pool and hot tub, and not one time did we feel like it was crowded. We actually hardly saw anyone in there. Customer service was outstanding, and the few times we went to the bar for drinks they were made well from a kind bartender. LOVE the free drink options like tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. We often make day trips to Charlevoix but, will definitely stay here in the off season when it's more financially reasonable. We live in northern Michigan so understand why prices are what they are in the summer, but would be awesome to be able to enjoy it in it's full summer glory. We did not order food from the kitchen, but did try multiple restaurants in town. Terry's is worth the coin, the Villager Pub is standard bar fare with excellent service, and we enjoyed our coffee and crepes from That French Place. We do not recommend Black Market Foods.
