We booked a family room for our visit to the amazing lake district but the room we were given was so small it was awfully hot all night long and it smelt of damp and mould it was so worrying we did not sleep much at all. Told staff next day but they did not seem to be surprised at our comments

we were massively disappointed by the eating establishment that is part of this hotel. they denyed it had anything to do with hotel and basically shut us down.the staff are not professional and every time we came back in they were outside smoking which is not a good look. also room was smelly.

The hotel is a little tired. There is ample free parking and the location is reasonable, being approximately 15 minutes walk from the town. Breakfast however was one of the worst I have had at a Premier Inn. Day 1 was poor, with most hot items swimming in oil. It looked unappealing. There was no orange juice as advertised and this was replaced by some sort of squash. Day 2 and almost all of the cooked items were empty and had to wait 10-15 minutes for it to be replenished. There are limited hotel choices in Barrow, so there is a monopoly of a few hotels.

It's only the second time I have stayed in a Premier Inn and the first as a disabled customer. The accessible room was brilliant - on the ground floor and close to reception so I was able to use a rollator to come in and out of the hotel rather than having to use a wheelchair. The room was very spacious and the bathroom so well thought out for disabled users that I was able to have a shower without needing any assistance from my husband at all. The bed was huge and wonderfully comfortable and it was blissfully quiet. The standard of cleanliness was awesome. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and we loved the welcome gifts! Thank you so much to Kerry and the rest of the team! On the basis of your hotel, I will be going to many more Premier Inns...

Room was comfortable, if noisy with a constantly running fan as windows could not be opened. Paid for breakfasts but the hot food was not hot at all and mostly soaked in grease.

Staff very friendly and helpful! Room very clean and fresh! Food next door in the pub is very handy,

Hotel generally up to expected standard .. exterior looking very tired. Appalling food and service in adjoining Brewers Fayre restaurant ..AVOID

The Premier Inn is in a great location for touring the western lakes. It has a good free car park and decent rooms .But breakfast was shambolic due to shortage of staff ,their were shortages of crockery and food also tables not cleared . It was slightly better on the second day but the whole breakfast experience was dissapointing.

Just returned from an enjoyable weekend stay. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, as was the rest of the hotel. Helen and her team were fantastic, friendly, genuine and very helpful they made us feel so welcome. Will definitely return.

The staff were lovely the room was amazing and pillows were lovely couldn't of had a better sleep anywhere bathroom was spotless lovely pictures on the wall didn't find a speck of dust anywhere.

This is a very busy and so expensive Premier Inn. There was a significant queue to check in, though the staff handled it well. At dinner in the associated Brewers Fayre was very poor with a long wait to order and a longer wait for food, that was below average. They simply did not have enough staff, The queue for a drink was at least 15 mins long. There are cheaper and better options

No complaints it was a very comfortable stay and an excellent location for what we needed-plenty to do and see in Barrow especially the museum which was located next to hotel plus we had no problem finding eating places-the staff also were extremely helpful

Premier Inn was as expected, clean tidy and reasoably priced. The Brewer's Fayre Restaurant was very dissappointing, Very poor quality breakfast, no orange juice available all weekend, Coffee Machine not working all weekend, alot of breakfast items not available.

Hmmm. This Premier Inn was more like a Travelodge. Reception is just a small table in a corner of the entrance hall, the exterior is grubby and a bit untidy, and one of the letters of the sign is missing. The door to the annexe is boarded up although an adjacent notice suggests the glass broke in high winds rather than for any other reason. As made clear on the website, bedroom windows don't open. Other than that my room was OK and the bed as comfortable as ever. Can't knock the value either: from £57.
