Nice hotel. On the plus side I had great room which was spotless and a lovely evening meal. On the minus the wifi in my room (at the end of the corridor) was awful which meant I had to sit right by the door to have any chance of getting signal. I never got to eat breakfast as they got my order wrong and I ran out of time waiting before I had to leave for work.

Good quality hotel and rooms. Our bed was smaller than expected but for one night OK Staff friendly and helpful. Neighbouring room occupied by very noisy conversations after midnight and early hours of morning. Spoilt an otherwise pleasant stay. Convenient for The grandeur of Furness Abbey ruins.

This property is way overrated and is a trap. The exterior is pretty, but the place is counting the pennies. Heating switched off and freezing in the corridors and rooms. Front desk staff (owner) was nasty. The hotel restaurant dinner is lousy, low quality, and the space is smelly and stuffy. This place could have been a gem with a different ownership and management, but is run like a lousy B&B.

Absolutely beautiful hotel and grounds. Finished to a high spec throughout, spotlessly clean. Rooms are beautiful with luxurious finishing touches and products. Service from main front desk, all bars and restaurants was excellent. All staff happy to serve, welcoming and polite. We had a super wedding anniversary thanks to the Abbey House Hotel, would definitely recommend for a romantic break away and will be back.

Beautiful building set in pretty grounds with walk down to Furness Abbey. Rooms were nice with tea & coffee facilities. Can be a bit warm over night if you need to keep the windows closed but fans are available in each room. Can be noises if your room is at front of property when wedding is taking place. A little way from a lot of the attractions but a good base. On site restaurant but close to Barrow-in-Furness - although a lot of restaurants close early so best to check and book before you go.

Another very comfortable stay at the Abbey House Hotel. Bed and pillows just perfect, a good selection of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits in the room and toiletries in the bathroom. The English Breakfast was delicious with hot toast and local butter and cooked to perfection. The staff are friendly, obliging and obviously have real pride in their hotel. Was very disappointed with the evening menu - quite expensive, the Langoustine, Pea and Asparagus risotto was a small measley portion with prawns and one uncooked, shell on Langoustine to garnish with its black guts oozing out - not pleasant and a complete waste of money - so choose wisely from the evening dinner menu. I wouldnt however let this prevent me from staying here as it really is lovely in and positioned in beautiful gardens.

We stayed here as part of a honeymoon staycation. The hotel was EXCEPTIONAL and we would highly recommend it as a place to stay. Ideal base for visiting the lakes etc. Slightly odd booking system for breakfast which didn't appear to work to well but other than that, superb. Thanks Les and Lynne
