My husband and I recently stayed at the Crazy Bear Hotel in Beaconsfield on Thursday, 13th June, and unfortunately, our experience did not live up to the "one of a kind" and "remarkably memorable" stay advertised on their website. Having always wanted to stay at the Crazy Bear, I took advantage of their Cyber Monday sale last November and purchased several vouchers: Gold Package - Overnight Stay and Bottle of Exclusive Adriana Champagne (in a Suite) - £404.50 Seven Course Signature Dinner with a glass of Lanson Extra Age Champagne (For Two People) - £79.12 2x Thai Massage: Monday-Thursday (60 minutes) - £89.50 Even with the discount, we spent around £500, so we had high expectations. In February, I emailed to make a booking for June but was told to call instead, as they don’t redeem vouchers via email. The lady who took my booking was rude and unhelpful, repeatedly reminding me that it was "really far in advance" and asking if I was "sure I wanted to book" - booking a £500+ hotel room four months in advance shouldn't be an issue. As our special day approached, we looked at photos and reviews online. Despite taking TripAdvisor reviews with a grain of salt, we were alarmed by the number of negative comments. Sadly, our experience confirmed many of these reviews. Booking Issues: We had three vouchers for our stay, including two Thai massages. A day before our arrival, we were informed that one of our massage appointments was canceled due to staff sickness, and they couldn’t reschedule it for the same day. Since we don't live nearby, we opted for a refund for both massages, and the cost (£89.50) was credited to our room. Room Cleanliness: Our suite was not up to standard. We found rose petals on the floor, presumably from a previous guest, dust on the table (see attached photos), and false eyelashes on my bathroom towel. Dinner Confusion: Despite pre-booking dinner and informing the hotel about our voucher, the restaurant had no record of our tasting menu booking. They handed us the a la carte menu, and we had to clarify that we’d booked a tasting menu voucher. There was confusion about which tasting menu we were supposed to have, with one staff member telling us they’d given us the wrong one. Although the staff were pleasant, the experience was disorganized and not relaxing. The seven-course tasting menu was served too quickly, and we were nearly done in an hour. We were also seated in a separate room on our own, so the ambiance was lacking. We overheard conversations between employees, including one staff member asking a superior if she could take home some wine. Once we finished our meal, the staff were nowhere to be found. A little frustrated, we assumed the bill would be added to our room, we went to the bar. Bar Experience: At the bar, a staff member rudely placed the dinner bill in front of us without explanation and walked off. We had to flag someone down to charge it to our room. We stayed for a few drinks, but the bar staff were un
