Miraval Berkshires

we stayed at wyndhurst and got a day pass at the miralveal spa. it is a beautiful spa with everything you want and great classes. however after april 2-miraval will take over the grounds and the rooms will be quite costly. however it will come with all meals and all the free acitivities.you will pay for spa treatments in some manner. this place was great for a mother daughter or friends get a way. we went during the week so it was on the quieter side. had a facial and massage which wre both great.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights one of which was a reward night. Prior reviews had me skeptical about the front desk but all was fine at our early afternoon check-in. Several other times we tried to reach the front desk and the phone rang off the hook or the answering service came on. We had requested light housekeeping after our first night. We had asked the cleaning staff we saw in the hallway and the again reminded the front desk but when we returned at 9PM after a long evening of skiing the room had not been serviced. We could manage with our unmade beds but the bigger problem was that everyone wanted to take a shower and we needed new bath towels. When we called the front desk for towels and they finally arrived, they brought us hand towels. On a second try they brought us the bath towels so we could all take a hot shower after a day of skiing. Unfortunately, by that time it was very late for all of us and we were exhausted. I informed the front desk of the lack of housekeeping at check-out and the hotel did add more reward points to my account for the inconvenience. We did enjoy breakfast once we were able to find the location at the Wyndhurst Mansion. We had many different items on the menu, and everyone enjoyed their breakfast. The waitstaff was nice too. The indoor pool area was nice but our children weren't in the pool long before they were asked to leave due to a scheduled water aerobics class.

Many of these rooms are clearly going on decades of use, and little effort has been made this century to upgrade them. The buildings are too spread out and if the weather is bad you need to drive to them. I would ask how old the building and rooms are before booking. There looks to be one new building that we did not stay in that could be decent .

Excellent resort, one of the best in the north east. Service was outstanding and rooms are superb. Very scenic view. Throughly enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend it to you. Ideal for vacation with friends and family.

I had enjoyed exquisite brunches at the Cranwell over the years and had always wanted to stay at this property. A few years ago it was acquired by Hyatt and turned into a Miraval resort. When I finally had a long weekend to plan a getaway with my husband I jumped at the chance to book the Wyndhurst/Miraval. Alas, I embarked upon a nice but confusing weekend. I booked the Wyndhurst for two nights a Saturday night for $695 per night and the next night for $495. This excluded tax and the $35 resort fee. I was excited to use the Miraval spa as a part of my stay. When I called the spa to make reservations I learned that you could not use the Miraval facilities as a Wyndhurst guest. You could book a day pass (which we did) but there was no discount or special deal if you were also staying at the Wyndhurst. I thought they must be very separate properties. When we drove onto the property we went right up to the grand Wyndhurst mansion, where I had booked the room. The hotel was quiet as a doormouse. Not a soul to be found. Finally we found a staff member that told us we had to drive down to Miraval to check in. I was confused because I thought there was no connection. We checked in and then drove back to the mansion to learn that there was no elevator to our room on the second floor. A lovely staff member stopped his vacuuming to help us with our luggage. The room, a suite with a large sitting room and bedroom was very spacious and clean, however the view from the windows was of rooftop equipment. Not what I was expecting for $700/night. Overall this was a confusing experience. The room was nice and the staff, if you can find them, exceedingly helpful. Hyatt needs to figure out how to position this resort more clearly to guests.

My adult daughter and I visited Miraval Berkshires for two nights and three days in April. Despite the non-stop cold rain, we had a very nice time and, because of the long corridor connecting most of the buildings, almost never went outside. High level review with details below — the activities and instructors and leaders were excellent, though indoor offerings with no sur-charge were somewhat limited; the spa is beautiful with many offerings; the menu was excellent, but preparation uneven; the room and facilities were clean, new and fresh; the check-in process was terrible. I visited Miraval in Arizona a few months ago, so much of my review is comparative. The facility is attractive with a modern take on New England architecture. There are some lovely views. I imagine during nicer weather that the hikes, sitting by the pool and other outdoor activities would be very special. Nevertheless, two fireplaces in the common areas, and plenty of heat made the vibe cozy and enabled wearing tights and workout wear without layers of fleece and sweaters. The long corridor is a bit institutional, but an excellent art exhibit with various artists gave it a bit of a gallery feel. One of the lights in our room didn’t work, and it took several calls for someone to arrive and fix it. (All of that should be checked between guests). The food was pretty good, imaginative, and healthy without feeling spartan. The servings were surprisingly large for spa food. The wine list is limited but with reputable selections. So the menu planners are doing a good job. It’s useful to know that there are some things off menu. For example, I asked about fries with the burger and they offered regular fries and crinkle cut sweet potato fries (excellent!). The execution, especially the meat, was a bit iffy. The burger ordered medium rare was charred and well done. The duck ordered medium rare was medium to well and sliced too thick (actually there was too much of it. One duck breast would have served two). Ingredients at the salad bar were fresh. The fruit was moderately ripe. At the cafe where coffee, tea, smoothies and prepared food are on offer, the food was good. I was disappointed that there were two smoothies on the menu and no option for creating your own (as in Arizona). Classes and instructors were generally excellent and probably the high point. Since the occupancy was modest, there was no problem getting into classes as in Arizona, though the selections were somewhat limited (since we cancelled all our outdoor activities because of rain). On the other hand, there were no last minute additions to accommodate the crowds as in Arizona. Brittany and Josh in the BMC are appropriately upbeat, well informed, clear in their instruction, etc. The Power Flow yoga class was appropriate for all levels with modifications, which requires some skill and was well done. Property is beautiful & very comfortable- gym was clean & a short walk from where our room was. My only criticism was a broken coffee maker otherwise the property is charming - wish bar was open Tuesday and Wed but understand it was a quiet period & it was a little confusing as property is changing names.

Our experience at Wyndhurst was excellent. Our room was spacious and clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, fitness center was clean and in great shape. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again at Wyndhurst.

We enjoyed our business meeting at your beautiful mansion. We loved the accomodations and food. The property is pretty and the rooms in the cottages were very cozy, I would love to come with my friends here for a long weekend! Beautiful! The Berkshires are so lovely in the Fall/Winter! Last time I was here was in the Fall and the setting was beautiful we had cocktails on the back deck!
