荷蘭屋住宿加早餐旅館(Holland House B&B)

In the photographs taken in March 2024, everything appeared splendid—a gleaming establishment with a splendid pool set within an aged Dutch residence. However, appearances can be deceiving. The accommodation we occupied was adorned with decidedly dated, subpar household items reminiscent of the 1980s, akin to what one might procure on AliExpress. Moreover, the iron adhered stubbornly to my garments, and the ubiquitous presence of WC Duck and cleaning products in plain view throughout all the rooms is rather disconcerting, especially for an establishment boasting a four-star rating. The premises are in dire need of refurbishment and fall far short of the standards expected for discerning guests. Its worn, antiquated, and perilous condition is evident.

Comfortable old school glam! Had a wonderful big room with a lovely bathroom. So quiet at night I had all the windows open. The breakfast is delicious. Special shout out to Maggie the cook, who makes a yummy breakfast to order. I swam every day I was there (which turned out to be longer than planned as I waited to pick up a car I'd bought). Will definitely stay again if I'm in Durban.

I felt very welcome, all the time all the staff. The rooms , swimmingpool and the public area are daily cleaned. Parking okay fantastic clean and well maintained neighbourhood. Lots of restaurants, parks and shops in a square kilometer. Perfect stay.

This is one of the best places I’ve stayed in. The hosts are very kind and helpful, as well as great to chat to! They’re very knowledgeable about what there is for tourists to do and helpful in setting it up. The pool is also a big bonus, with the rooms very nice and spacious. It’s very welcoming, and I would highly recommend staying here!

My stay at Holland House was absolutely amazing! I am very grateful to the owners for making my stay a most memorable one. Holland House is absolutely beautiful with a rich history and amazing decor. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast is delicious (particularly the cappuccinos). Holland House provides exquisite hospitality in Durban. I am very grateful to the owners for going the extra mile, and providing extra cappuccinos, accommodating business meetings, and taking care of me when I was sick. Lovely old homestead with beautiful antiques! Room huge and comfy. But ...... the bathroom is across the hallway from the room!! Not so great. I also noticed that other rooms had their bathrooms even further away from the room. Luckily mine was not so far. Be warned about breakfast. It is very nice. A reasonable selection available, but it takes 20 minutes PLUS to cook your bacon and eggs or even an omelet. Not good when breakfast is only available from 07h00, then 30 minutes to prepare, no time to eat, then leave and drive on traffic to get to work in time. Apart from the seperate bathroom and slow breakfast, a lovely place. Don't be in a hurry to eat!

This was our second stay at Holland House and the vivacious Kim and her lovely team once again made sure it was as good as the first time around! Excellent breakfasts, lovely clean rooms, friendly staff, quiet location and yet within (SAFE!) walking distance of Florida road and the buzz of restaurants and shops - what more can one ask for? I can absolutely recommend this Bed'nBreakfast to anyone whether they want accommodation for business or for holiday!

We have stayed frequently over the years at Holland House and I would look nowhere else in Durban. Kim and her team are friendly , warm and happy to help and accommodate whatever the request. The rooms are clean and decorated with Kim’s creative eye. There is off street parking and good security so I have never felt insecure. The location in Durban allows easy access to beaches , shopping and tourist attractions.

We were told to rather steer clear of Durban, but I am so grateful we did not listen. Holland House exceeded all of our expectations. Durban still has so much to offer. Holland House is conveniently located a few 100 metres from the bustling Florida Road. So many restaurants to choose from. Walking there at night with the wonderful vibe was amazing. The property itself is also so close to so many other attractions. It has safe parking and and the best pool. We made sure to go for a dip in the warm Durban summer every afternoon. It is clean and well decorated. It has a colonial charm, which encapsulates some of the history of Durban and gives you the old Durban feel. The breakfast was amazing and we were personally catered for each morning by the owner and several staff. The a**osphere at the property is friendly and energetic, but with sufficient privacy should you just like a quiet holiday. And nothing was too much to ask. Thank you for an amazing stay!
