馬克與梅多斯酒店(Mark & Meadows)

We went to this Hotel based on a close friend's recommendation who has been a regular visitor to Santiniketan but never really stayed here, must be a lore from the past, but we went there ignoring all the review comments, hoping things couldnt be really bad, after all, all we needed was a neat and clean room and the prices were quite high for 2 nights. First I made a wrong booking for 2 BR and to change that to 3 BR had to make numerous calls, since the online thing doesnt work, then when we went there, we realized there is a huge property, type like a resort of country bungalows, huge ones but with only 1 person for service and we were the only guests in 20+ days; there were lizards and roaches, there was a great jacuzzi sort of shower, but it didnt work, every single thing we ordered was damn fresh, because even the tea, biscuits had to be procured to be served; very handicapped or senior unfriendly, every room, we had to climb 4-5 steps; the dining room was like a dark and old place and we were the centre piece; it was a very pathetic stay and pathetic service, the manager wouldnt ever come, so no business, so hardly any staff, and no service, so no guests and no business, its caught in a loop, but a really lovely resort fallen into dilapidated conditions, sad story, but definitely not recommended, since there are really good hotels at the same or lesser price, right in the centre

Shabby, no proper service, dirty, short of staff. This type of nasty shabby so called resorts can stay open only and only in places where there is no sense of business and development. Close it down immediately and help save travellers their happiness.

Best to stay if you visit Santiniketan. Rooms, food everything best!! Would suggest anyone who visits santiniketan to stay here. Huge place with swimming pool. Well maintained property. Also easy to locate.
