霍威霍伊克酒店(Houw Hoek Hotel)

Nous avons séjourné dans cet hôtel afin de couper la route entre notre safari et le cap.  L'hôtel a un très bon rapport qualité-prix, il est abordable avec beaucoup d'activités pour les familles. Le petit point à améliorer serait le matériel dans les espaces des jeux qui ont fait leur temps et ne sont plus fonctionnels pour une grosse partie.  L'hôtel est un peu loin des activités principales, toutefois il est situé proche d'un petit commerce de proximité qui propose pas mal de choses.  C'est un hôtel que nous recommandons pour les petits budgets. Vous pouvez passer un très bon séjour.

Booked lunch for mothers day. What a disappointment. We had to explain the difference between fried and grilled calamari to our waitress several times, despite the option being on their menu. In the end we asked her to rather write it down on her note pad. Ordered hake served on rice and they forgot the rice. We ended up with a plate of rice to be shared by the table after informing them thay they forgot the rice. Asked for salt and pepper after being served we got packets of salt and pepper as you would at a take away restaurant. There was mess up with our bill. Forgot knives and forks. Your local wimpy and spur would be 100% better. No windows open despite serving 30 plus guest. Will not recommend. Will not be going back. Blast from the past.

We had a two night stay in order to visit the Elgin area. The room was spacious and attractive with good carpets, a wonderful large and very comfortable bed and a modern bathroom with a large walk-in shower and plenty of hot water. The staff were most friendly and the quality of the meals was good.

I have not been to Houw Hoek hotel for 30 years. I was pleasantly surprised to see many upgrades additional accommodation and the additional if a SPA. The lawns around the hotel are like a carpet which blends in beautifully with the trees and mountain vistas. Staff were friendly and the food was better than expected. I will stay there again soon.

Awesome weekend, will definitely come back and explore the surrounding areas, awesome facilities and location absolute wonderful. The breakfast buffet was our absolute favorite. The restaurant for dinner absolute sublime

If there is no dinner dance, play at least music outside at wooden benches under tree, or get live music for Saturday. Loved the place, beautiful, food was excellent, but no atmosphere. People love music. Even if it is just jazz. Not talking about rock or disturbing music. We would love to come again, but with no music, I do not know. Paid much more than many places, and got less entertainment. And we are not difficult people. Never complain, normally make the best out of any situation. FIRST TIME EVER that we went Saturday afternoon to the room to watch a movie. TtHAT YOU DO AT HOME

A lovely, family friendly hotel offering good food and large rooms at affordable prices. There is mini golf, volleyball, swimming pool, a lovely children’s play area and a large lawned area. There is a large terrace where you can have meals, drinks, snacks or just while away time looking at the beautiful mountain and forest scenery. Service was good and although there was a bit of a mix up with our dinner order, it was satisfactorily resolved. Breakfast was excellent with a good variety of food served buffet style.

The rooms we were given appeared to have been refurbished recently. Very comfortable. Spectacular views. I wont hesitate to recommend this establishment. The breakfast was an average buffet breakfast which was average but okay for us.

The hotel is old, so lots of history, it's big with lots of rooms spread around the lovely grounds, the site is surrounded by beautiful mountains. Our room, (42) was a little basic and minus its hair drier, no milk for the tea and coffee, the safe didn't work, the kettle didn't switch off automatically, also the handle got very hot and it suffered from noise pollution from the nearby highway, we reported the missing hair drier to reception at 7pm and were told, " I don't know where I would get one from at this time of the night)! The spa wasn't signed up, so difficult to find, it also suffered from no hair drying facilities and weak water pressure cold showers, the staff and swimming pool in there were amazing, we had a great massage. In general the hotel staff and food were first class, although we did have one undrinkable Chardonet with our evening meal. It is only a 3* hotel so we didn't expect the earth, some areas such as staff and food exceeded 3*, other areas as above fell short.
