獵鷹酒店(The Falcon Hotel)

Extremely disappointing dinner experience on all levels. Firstly having ordered a bottle of wine the waitress dutifully brought it to the table and then departed. I wouldn’t have thought it would have been too much trouble to pour the first glass. Then things went down hill quite rapidly. I ordered the lobster ravioli which tasted bland and under seasoned and the pasta was thicker than I’d have expected. It was akin to a couple of sheets of shop bought lasagne, if this was fresh pasta then it needed to be a lot thinner. Then came the herb crusted pork tenderloin. It looked very appetising and I’m sure was delicious when it was first cooked. However, it was extremely tough and it was a real struggle to cut into. Therefore, we sent it back to the kitchen assuming the chef was just unfortunate to let it leave the kitchen, everyone makes mistakes. But no, to my amazement the waiter brought it back and said “the chef has cut into it and says it’s still pink and it is as it should be”. Which I found to be strange, especially when you consider it was now accompanied by a steak knife! Even with a steak knife it was a struggle to cut and I felt sorry for the poor pig that had given its life for this. Therefore, I ate the vegetables and began contemplating a takeaway. In an effort to get at least one satisfactory course I ordered the cheese selection for dessert. A selection of cheeses accompanied by crackers, celery, grapes and onion chutney the menu says, you can’t go wrong I thought. How wrong I was, the cheese selection arrived, well presented yet devoid of chutney! It beggars belief how the kitchen can’t even get a cheese board right. The only thing I can highly recommend is the fish and chips from the Silver Fish bar which is located through the car park and across the street. Avoid dining at the Falcon Hotel if you value good food and good service.

Where do I even begin! The Falcon Hotel is absolutely amazing! Their staff go above and beyond and are simply incredible. The rooms are fantastic and as for the food... just wow! We held our weding reception at the Falcon and it was everything we had ever dreamt off. Lilly and Anjali were always there when needed and they made our day so special. They were caring and very professional. Nothing was too much hard work. All the staff were so polite and always smiling. A lot of our guests gave many compliments of the venue and said they will be back for the food and hospitality. They all felt well looked after. Words will never express how great the Falcon really is!

Room - Fabulous Food - Delicious Service - Excellent Short 3 night stay - cannot recommend this place highly enough. In a word - Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (for meaning, google or watch Mary Poppins). The family room was excellent - spacious and had everything including space which is something that as parents with an adult daughter with learning disabilities is all too often sadly missing. Add to that, the staff were all great with her (and us). Loved the area and did we say the accommodation was first class? So, rest assured, we will be back! Thank you for an excellent stay.

The Falcon Hotel is a wonderful place to stay. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They all got the hang of my Spice allergy and dairy free requirements. The food is all freshly and beautifully cooked and presented. The avocado and poached eggs for breakfast was wonderful. The accessible room was just so special. Lots of thought put into it to make a person with disabilities feel very special. Bed was so comfy. The room was immaculately clean and fresh. Thank you to everyone that made our stay so special.

If anyone wants to know what a good hotel experience feels like then they should come here! Accommodation is excellent, the food is delicious and all the staff were so friendly, helpful and well organised, particularly the reception staff. The car park is not big but adequate and there is a pay and display car park next door. We had a wonderful stay and can’t wait to return.

We loved our stay at the Falcon. The room was spotless with nice little touches such as freshly made biscuits and towelling dressing gowns. The room was stylish and comfortable. We had dinner too, food was excellent. The lemon cod and eton mess was delicious. Service efficient and friendly, with a warm welcome and cheery goodbye from reception when we left. Would recommend the Falcon in a heartbeat!

On behalf of my family, friends and loved ones we cannot fault the attentive, discreet and loving reception and service we received at a family celebration of life for my wife. It exceeded even my expectations and left other guests wanting to come back and explore the region under happier times. This hotel and caring staff are an asset to our beautiful town and county.

Fabulous hotel located in an old market town. Our room was extremely comfortable and well equipped. The staff were amazing, very attentive without being overbearing. Restaurant staff were excellent and the food was delicious. In addition there is ample free parking together with very well maintained outside seating. Highly recommend
