Arrived at hotel checked in all good, then went to visit family got back at 10pm. Then on closer look around the room I'm sorry to say it was terrible. Not what we expected, I didn't want to stay. The room was terribly dusty, in need of a very good clean, dirty mattress under bed, hard mattress and pillows on the bed hardly slept, shockingly dirty windows and frames, the curtains even felt horrible to draw, black grout all in tiles bottom of shower and mould all on ceiling, don't know when skirting boards and bed moved to hoover, never I think. Nobody there at night to speak to about room, its all locked up and closed, we were given a key to get in with so couldn't even ask to change room. Even at breakfast which was not good, everything in that room was thick with dust, would definitely not recommend it. Paid £165 !!!

We're staying here now for a romantic weekend for our wedding anniversary, I'm surprised I lasted the weekend. Beautiful historic building on a beautiful road and a good location but the place is filthy, desperately in need of a good clean and all soft furnishings need replacing. Our room was dusty with pictures that had fallen off the wall, curtains that were falling apart, hard mattress, hard pillows. When we flushed the toilet the water came up through the bath, we had a dripping leaky shower that poured onto the floor and was a slip hazard. Cleaning of the room consisted of fresh towels, the room wasn't cleaned for 3 days. The 2 stars is for the breakfast, breakfast was great and plenty to choose from. There was never anyone on reception, no one to make a complaint too, only ever seen bar staff for the entire stay. Nearly £600 for the weekend for a five star hotel? With silver fish in the sink? Definitely would never return or recommend.

Just popped in for a couple of drinks, relaxed atmosphere and very friendly bar staff, although we weren't there to eat, the food brought out to other guests looked good and the quickly emptied plates testified to it's quality. Lovely outside area, it's a great place.

We walked up and down the high street, and this place stood out. Lovely place, food was great I had the roast beef. Roast potatoes were fabulous and crispy. We dined as a family and there was great options for all. Lovely interior and great vibe. Staff lovely too Will definitely be back

I came with my mum today and food was immaculate I couldn’t fault it I definitely will b returning! I will be sharing how good the experience I had was! All staff were attentive and lovely! The chefs must be trained well the food was astonishing

Just had Sunday lunch at Burford House in Burford with my wife, highly recommend the Sunday roast, it was excellent, generous portions and excellent service in a really friendly traditional establishment right in the middle of the High Street.

Me and my partner visit burford quiet frequently as it’s close by we visited on the weekend (Saturday) to the burford house The welcome Is very pleasant from start to finish, we orderd burgers with different toppings etc as you get to choose which is different but really liked it and there so thick and juicy and full of flavour very happy.

Dirty, mould, disgusting useless rude owner. Is it Italian? Mediterranean?, pub food? I don’t think they can decide… turn around, step out the door and take a sharp left following the road down to the Royal Oak pub, serving mouth watering homemade pies.

Can't think of much positive to say... parking is a pain. Rooms were dirty and in need of a total overhaul. Plumbing was on the verge of a total breakdown. First room, dirty and noisy, bedroom door wouldn't close. Changed room which looked like no housekeeping had taken place, no soap or shampoo or toilet roll. Nobody seemed bothered the only good thing was that nobody else was staying and it was quiet. Way too expensive (£165 a night!) for the state of the place. Don't waste your money.
