Ensana Buxton Crescent

Friendly staff, decent breakfast, allows us to park front of hotel for loading and unloading. Some of the pools are closed due to out of service though.

Had a lovely stay at ensana buxton crescent. Spa facility is fantastic. Its nicely scented everywhere at the hotel. Breakfast is delicious, very high quality ingredients. The crescent room is spacious. For this price and the quality of food and facility, i doubt if you can find anything better than this in uk.

I came here on an unexpected 2 night break, as our plans for Marrakech fell through. Undeterred, we thought we would have a spa break. The hotel is beautiful. I like the decor - its a little safe, but nonetheless elegant. Slightly misleading to book a Crescent Room only to find a view of rather less than attractive neighbouring buildings at the back of the building. The staff here are superb. The young man in the bar mixes a mean Champagne Cocktail and is hugely welcoming. The hotel needs to invest in him, and expand the cocktail menu. He offered to make a few off menu cocktails, but there should be a broader list from which he can also prepare as he was alone on the night we visited. Please don't charge for pithy bar snacks , that's always a cost saving too far in a 5 star hotel charging fee 235£ a night. A bowl of peanuts or salted crisps are a basic gesture of welcome when you're then charging me the same for a champagne cocktail as I would pay at the Savoy. We dined in the restaurant one night - varied courses which were delicious and very well presented. Our waiter was superb: informed, welcoming and attentive. Breakfast had a similar feel although on the second morning the hotel was very busy and a few waiting staff dropped thee ball. Nothing major - and they retained their universally charming personalities. The breakfast (made to order) and the buffet of fresh fruit salad, juices, cereals, yoghurts and pastries were excellent. The dining room doesn't seem to have a Maitre D' or Maitresse who would watch over proceedings and step in when needed. Please PLEASE change the Tragedy Playlist. I am a classical musician so may be more sensitive but I really do not want Barber's Adagio for Strings and Schindler's List playing on a loop at 9.30 am or 8 pm for that matter. Please be more imaginative with the music so it reflects the time of day and sets the tone for the experience. The spa was superb and again all staff were delightful. The treatments and pools were a tonic and a fantastic way to spend a day. All in all, very good. A few details need sharpening, but this hotel has a very fine staff at its heart and I hope the CEO listens to them. They are local and know what visitors to Buxton expect and enjoy.

Fabulous hotel and spa, second visit for us. We were made to feel special. Highlights- giant comfortable bed, so big! The room has a fridge which we always like. amazing food both evening and breakfast. The spa is beautiful. We didn’t have a treatment this time, it didn’t hinder the experience at all. Never got too busy like some spas. We used the valet parking. They will take your bags straight to the room for you if you fancy an explore locally.

We stayed here for 3 nights celebrating birthdays. We had a lovely room overlooking the Cresent/slopes. There was a bottle of prosecco given to us on the house. The food in the restaurant is superb as are the hotel facilities/spa. Thank you very much for a lovely stay. We will come again

A stunning venue for a spa. The Crescent Hotel is a beautiful building that has been very tastefully transformed. The spa facilities are over 3 or 4 floors with an amazing indoor/outdoor pool on the top one. The staff are welcoming & the therapists we had were excellent. Dinner& breakfast in the restaurant were delicious, as was lunch in the cafe. Our room was lovely too. I have no hesitation in recommending this spa hotel.

L’albergo è in un fantastico edificio storico al centro della pittoresca cittadina di Buxton. Le camere sono nuove e molto buone. La Boxing Day Dinner è stata molto buona. Veniamo alle note dolenti. La SPA è al di sotto delle aspettative. Per esempio, in tutte le spa di livello viene offerta non solo acqua ma anche tisane. Costano poco e danno maggiore varietà. Anche la grotta di sale deve essere aperta, che senso ha metterla a pagamento? La colazione del mattino è stata disastrosa. Il caffè è arrivato dopo mezz’ora e abbiamo dovuto chiederlo 4 volte. Il pane tostato non è mai arrivato. Il buffet è limitato e non è in linea con l’offerta di un grande albergo. I succhi e l’acqua continuavano a esaurire. C’erano evidenti segni di disorganizzazione. In conclusione, l’hotel si presenta bene, ma per il suo prezzo bisogna migliorare. Molto.
