聖馬科城堡酒店(Castello di San Marco Charming Hotel and Spa)

Soggiornato per 3 notti. Casa privata incrocio tra una masseria e un piccolo castello (il proprietario ci abita, al piano superiore). Una 30ina di stanze, tutte suites. La mia molto bella con maxi doccia a pareti vetrate oscurabili. Una vera immersione slow nella Sicilia di altri tempi. Personale super cortese e disponibile. Giardino meraviglioso. Piscina comoda con bar ristoro aperto a pranzo. Spa piccola ma professionale. Mare a 50 metri, molto bello. Ristorante buono e a prezzi adeguati. Vineria pttima e bellissima. Alla fine, direi, il prezzo è risultato ottimo in rapporto alla qualità del servizio e del posto. Non metto 5 pallini solo perché la struttura (comunque ben tenuta davvero), potrebbe avere una migliore manutenzione generale

FAIRY TALE SETTING In a quiet spot away from Tourist area. Near to Etna . Service good weather was dreadful rained rained and rained. Nice gardens and wine bar to pass a the time and chill awaiting sunny days

Il barman Rosario ha ben chiara l'arte della mixology. Cocktail raffinati, sapientemente abbinati, regalano al palato nobili esperienze sensoriali. Una vasta cantina, scrupolosamente curata, capace di soddisfare anche i clienti più esigenti. Il tutto in una struttura particolarmente elegante con possibilità di usufruire di ameni giardini ai piedi dell'Etna. È stata una bellissima esperienza che sicuramente ripeteremo.

Ho soggiornato tre giorni con mio marito in questa realta' meravigliosa, che dire.. Ottimo in tutto, gentilezza delle ragazze, ottima professionalita' di Marco in piscina al bar, anche in spiaggia molto organizzati i ragazzi sempre attenti in tutto...ottima la pulizia della camera.. Ristorante eccellente con pietanze molto buone... poi il sorriso dolcissimooo delle ragazze sempre gentili e attente in tutto... Cosi come anche il responsabile di sala molto attento nel curare le esigenze dei clienti... Ma chi ha superato il tutto indubbiamente è "Giorgio " ragazzo gentile con modi molto professionali e con un eleganza indiscutibile.... Con la sua eleganza e modi di fare a fatto sì che una cena semplice al (giardino arabo) con mio marito diventasse un grande sogno.. Per la sua gentile disponobilita'.... Per nulla invadente, molto attento in tutto... Grazie Giorgio da parte mia e di mio marito... Consiglio a tutti di visitare questo posto meraviglioso. Castello S. Marco una realta' che dona sogni meravigliosi.

È uno dei luoghi più belli dove abbiamo mai soggiornato. Un castello bellissimo e curatissimo, immerso in un verde davvero spettacolare. Le stanze, la zona colazione e cena, la zona piscina, il parco.. tutto davvero incantevole. Dopo il caldo delle giornate passate o a bordo piscina o al mare o in visita alle tante bellissime località turistiche facilmente raggiungibili dal castello ( Taormina, Etna, gole dell’Alcantara solo per citarne alcune) e’ bellissimo tornare alla sera e immergersi nella quiete del parco e nella zona wine bar dove, oltre alla bellezza della sala e del giardino di pertinenza, si possono gustare cocktail e snack davvero buonissimi. Le cene e le colazioni al castello sono molto ricche e raffinate e il tutto è avvolto da un alone di dolce bellezza italiana.. Il personale tutto è davvero splendido e super gentile gentile. Il sorriso, la disponibilità e la gentilezza sono le qualità che più si percepiscono: davvero da encomio! Direi davvero che ci torneremo perché quando trovi luoghi così, non puoi andare una sola volta. Davvero felicissimi di questa vacanza bellissima

What a special hotel this is. From the moment I arrived, the staff was so gracious, professional and welcoming. The property is simply magnificent and the location,outstanding. Because Taormina has become so expensive and overrun with tourists, I chose not to return there to stay. I knew I had made the correct decision when I made an excursion from San Marco to Taormina. Even though it is still a beautiful town, I was very happy to,return to the tranquility and beauty of the Castello San Marco. The meals were delicious, especially the dinners in the magnificent courtyard. The setting is one of the prettiest locations imaginable. The food was delicious and the service most professional and warm- I loved swimming in the beautiful,pool. It seems many guests preferred the beach , which I did not visit. The hotel is excellent value for the quality of the experience. Everyone at the reception,desk,were so kind in helping me arrange my ferry in Messina, reserving restaurants in the area, and obtaining local,taxis. This is a first-class operation. My fiancé and I booked to stay 7 nights in a suite at Castello San Marco in May 2023. For the first time ever, we chose to cut our stay short and moved to different accommodation in Ortigia after 3 nights. By way of context, this was our third trip to Sicily and our ~tenth trip to Italy. Here’s an honest of our experience at the hotel: Pros - GROUNDS: The grounds of the hotel are stunning and kept beautifully with a vast array of tropical plants etc. Pool is lovely and big - FACILITIES: On paper, facilities are good. That said, due to weather/ season we could not make use of them - it was too wet for tennis and the private beach is not setup with sunbeds etc. in May Cons - SURROUNDINGS: If you have bad luck with weather like we did (grey skies and pretty consistent rain) this is not a suitable hotel. One day we braved the elements and ran 10km down the coastal road through the two nearest towns (in theory, a nice route). In reality, The coastal road was piled high with overflowing bin bags and generally the area was very run down. Taormina is 20-25 min drive but that’s the only obvious gem amidst an area of sicily that lags way behind the south east coast in terms of development. Just a heads up for travellers considering which area of sicily to stay in. - SERVICE: Marco met us with a smile and was the friendliest member of staff we encountered during our stay. Upon requesting an iron in our room we were informed that if we wanted clothes ironed we would have to pay for the ironing service - this is the first time ever we have been denied an iron/ asked to pay. I totally understand if for safety reasons the hotel can’t allow it but the response we got from reception was snooty to say the least. In general we felt any request was met with resen**ent and the staff at the poolside bar and reception were the least friendly I have encountered in Italy. When we informed reception we were leaving after 3 nights, instead of trying to convince us to stay they simply repeated multiple times how we were going to lose all of our money (a fact we were well aware of, and honestly didn’t want reminding of!). - ROOM: Our suite was in a purpose-built row of rooms in the gardens. Although spacious, it was fairly void of character. Small details like holes filled clumsily leaving marks on the walls etc. gave a sense of cheapness which wasn’t reflected in the price (we paid ~£180per night). Location of the suite meant the only time we entered the main castle was for check in / check out. As a result, one of the main attractions of staying here (the historic castle) was somewhat null and void. - FOOD: unlike every other Italian hotel I’ve stayed at, breakfast had to be ordered from a menu. We were informed if we wanted more than 1 savoury and 1 sweet option we had to pay extra. We wouldn’t have needed more food but the readiness to extract more money from guests was a theme we noted throughout our stay. Coffee at breakfast seemed like it had been made by a

unfortunately I feel compelled to write this review due the refusal of the management to receive feedback. my fiancé left one with fair and valid points only to be told that every single one is unfair. For example - Overall, the food and drink isn’t the standard it should be for the price (in our opinion). An aperol spritz is €14 which is normally 7-10 in Italy - they said they use non-supermarket ingredients and that’s why it’s expensive… it’s aperol, Prosecco and soda water, there isn’t any complication there and I saw him make it… anyway, almost every point is pushed back, in every negative review, the points are pushed back, if you don’t like something or request something… it’s pushed back The pool is beautiful, the room is pretty average and expensive for what it is, you won’t enter the castle because I think it’s pretty much the reception/lobby and, the food is ok but again no where near the standard you’d expect for the price and the big thing is the service and constant push back unfortunately it’s the theme of the service and I wish I took the bad reviews more seriously when booking as it is exactly what I experienced

Excellent séjour dans ce très bel hôtel de charme au très joli cadre verdoyant. Personnel attentif, chambre (suite junior) spacieuse, décorée sobrement et avec goût ! Et le diner au restaurant était vraiment une jolie réussite. Nous y retournerons.
