The staff are lovely, and the hotel is clean. The conference facilities are great. BUT...The rooms have no place to put your clothing. I was there for a 10 day stay. There is not a single reachable shelf, no drawers, and the only surfaces are two small bedside tables and a small desk. Insufficient hangers added to the frustration. It took three days for someone to inform me of the peculiarity of the toilet flushing mechanism (push up on the handle before you push down) Why not post a sign, a note, an instruction booklet. Why wouldn't the desk staff know this after I made three requests concerning the toilet not flushing properly. It took a week to learn that local calls cannot be made from the room phone. Everyone I asked had a different answer. I took several days to succeed in having my room made up before 1 in the afternoon when I want to have a rest. There was even confusion about the time the bar cut off food service. (several different answers) The tub is lovely and deep, BUT....frankly dangerous. There are no grab bars, no non slip mats, and a deep step in and out for those of us over 65. The hotel does not provide washcloths at all. Indeed one of our group slipped and hit her head. The room amenities and bathroom safety are not the fault of the local staff, but a result of corporate level decisions, unfair to the local staff who must bear the brunt of guest frustration. Much of the confusion might be alleviated by having an instruction and policy booklet in each room, or better informing the staff. The staff for the most part, as mentioned were polite and well meaning, they just didn't know the answers.
