My wife and I were absolutely delighted with this hotel. We just wanted an easy stay to explore Lygon Street and China Town and this was a nice stroll to both. We were in just their standard House room, but it was so good! The linen, pillows, mattress, provisions including soaps, teas, water, etc were all such good quality for this price. Clever screens, transparent panels and open shelves give the room a feeling of much more spaciousness than it technically has! Clever. And the staff, at every turn, were super friendly and warm and happy to go the extra mile. It simply has a really nice vibe about it and honours its old motel bones but with a modern flair that carries right through the premises. Oh and the coffee alone makes it worth having breakfast in their cafe on the ground floor. A bit later, I can recommend the Angry Escobar cocktail in Lord Lygon bar, also part of the premises. I'm not one to show alot of loyalty to any one brand, preferring to chase a good deal instead, but this is one place we still think about returning to soon, it was just that good.
