The experience is great, The service is top notch. It is a very nice building with a great location for walking around Charleston.

The hotel is fabulously clean, luxurious and well maintained. Rooms were large and elegant. We had high expectations and felt that the hotel fell short in two areas. (i) There is no dining area, so breakfasts are delivered to the lounge or room. Tried the omelette on the first day and was not impressed (held too long after cooking and only just warm).We stayed four days, so the other choices on the limited breakfast menu became repetitive. We settled on the safe (and fantastic) continental breakfast on days two through four as it did not need to be served hot. (ii) The hotel sets and promotes a high standard for itself relating to personal service.You are assigned a Butler to look after you which worked well when he was there. Ours was sick for the second and third days of our visit, and the wheels fell off the system. We disappointed when were not delivered the promised special evening drinks on three of the four nights of our stay (despite daily assurances to the contrary from other staff). Assume this is due to Covid and the staff shortages as there appeared to be an inadequate backup system. Desk staff were fantastic and the valet parking was incredibly fast, done on the run. All staff were professional and most helpful. Great location, and we would most certainly stay there again. Overall a great place to stay, but, in my opinion, with a top quality image one needs to deliver the level of service that one actively promotes on a consistent basis, no exceptions.

Stayed for family vacation. Found staff extremely friendly and accommodating. Butler style service is a nice touch and reflection of the past. Welcome cocktail very nice touch. Free snacks and beverages in room everyday a major plus especially with teens. Only suggestion would be to change them for multi-day visitors. Breakfast was interesting- glad it was included. Choices could use a little tweaking. We are not big breakfast eaters so the choices worked for us, but overheard guests in the bar complaining. Darryl and David were fantastic Butlers. Can’t wait to return. Also can’t beat the location!!!

Complimentary breakfast (eggs) was terrible. The yogurt plate was ok. This is a real shame given that everything else was great. The O.J. wasn’t fresh. Potatoes tasted old and from a freezer. Charge a little more for the room and focus on providing a breakfast that matches the high quality of the hotel and staff. We would still stay there again.

Great location with excellent service and touches of Southern hospitality, walkable to historic Charleston and the gorgeous South Broad Street neighborhood… butler service and welcome drink 🍹 nice surprises!

This was the best hotel experience I have ever had. Beautiful hotel and the absolute nicest staff I’ve ever encountered. I was initially disappointed because I booked a room that was supposed to have a bathtub according to ******* listing but did not have. I got over it very quick because of the excellent service and accommodations. The butlers on staff were so kind and seemed genuinely happy to assist. The bar has the best drinks and all the amenities were on point. My husband and I will definitely return!

Excellent service and white glove touch, beautiful hotel, many thoughtful touches and perks included. We loved it and would love to return.

The Spectator was wonderful, from checking in with a complimentary mocktail to the free bikes and daily breakfast. We felt so pampered and it was just what three busy Moms needed. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a lovely stay in Charleston.
