The hotel is fabulously clean, luxurious and well maintained. Rooms were large and elegant. We had high expectations and felt that the hotel fell short in two areas.
(i) There is no dining area, so breakfasts are delivered to the lounge or room. Tried the omelette on the first day and was not impressed (held too long after cooking and only just warm).We stayed four days, so the other choices on the limited breakfast menu became repetitive. We settled on the safe (and fantastic) continental breakfast on days two through four as it did not need to be served hot.
(ii) The hotel sets and promotes a high standard for itself relating to personal service.You are assigned a Butler to look after you which worked well when he was there. Ours was sick for the second and third days of our visit, and the wheels fell off the system. We disappointed when were not delivered the promised special evening drinks on three of the four nights of our stay (despite daily assurances to the contrary from other staff). Assume this is due to Covid and the staff shortages as there appeared to be an inadequate backup system.
Desk staff were fantastic and the valet parking was incredibly fast, done on the run. All staff were professional and most helpful. Great location, and we would most certainly stay there again.
Overall a great place to stay, but, in my opinion, with a top quality image one needs to deliver the level of service that one actively promotes on a consistent basis, no exceptions.
