Read Hotel is a beautiful historic hotel. The lobby is classic and our Manor room was well appointed. We encountered two problems though. The front desk clerk was very short with us at checkin and seemed annoyed to answer our questions about valet parking. But, most importantly, our room was so very noisy at night. The walls are paper thin and we heard every conversation in the neighboring room. Also, the doors in our hallway closed with a loud bang every time a guest closed their door. It was one of the worst nights of sleep we have ever encountered in a hotel. At checkout the clerk did not greet us except to ask if we wanted our receipt printed or emailed. No “How was your stay?” was asked. We chose not to complain to her at checkout as she didn’t seemed concerned about us as guests.

Very lovely old, old hotel in downtown Chattanooga. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and both the food as well as service were excellent!

It's a very nuce hotel, super clean, good location, close to many restaurants. And the staff here are super friendly too. I definitely will come back.❤️

It was a nice hotel for the night. The side by the road can be pretty loud until about 9pm other than that it was a really cool place to stay while traveling through.

I’ve never had room service as an option before. They were very courteous with me as I ordered and the food was promptly brought up. I will definitely stay here again in the future.

The Read House brings back the days long gone. The feeling of history and the nostalgic atmosphere is awesome. Love staying here.

Beautiful hotel in a downtown location within walking distance of pretty much everything. I really liked the hotel. My only complaint is that none of the valet staff could help me with very basic directions to a downtown location. Seems like that would have been something pretty much any adequately trained employee could have done.
