切姆塞德公寓(The Chermside Apartments)

Staff were friendly; the room was nice. The swimming pool had quite a lot of leaves in it. The gym set up was a bit strange; there is a partner gym 3 minutes walk away which is really well kitted out. However the hotel ask you to pay the gym provider directly to go; then bring a receipt to reception with your bank details, and they will then ‘pass them to accounts’ for a refund. Seems like a ball ache - esp with a UK bank account. Breakfast was not great. Bananas were all past their best.

Nice quiet place. Next to a big shopping centre. Can't go wrong there. Not too far from airport or town, so quite easy get around.

Staff were very friendly & organised, fast service, explained directions & workings of facilities very well. Room was nice, clean & comfortable. Although air conditioner was not cold at all, not working correctly. Pool full of leaves. Water & pool area untidy. Tiles lifting & area in need of maintenance. Looking up the outside of building especially from the pool area, noticed water leaking from one level to the next causing bad staining over time. Vacant open allotment next door, very third world. Needs a good tidy up. First thing you see on arrival, although probably not on hotels property?

My first time there, everything good except my check-in key. I did not receive email notification since I arrive in the evening. Can codes are sent via email too to access our keys to accommodate those that are not in their home country but travel in from another country to stay at the apartment. I have to ask the cab driver to call the reception staff since I don’t have wifi and also local number.

Late night arrival so tried to contact hotel 24 h before and could only get answering service. Next day (morning of our departure) they called and advised that they couldn't provide the room we had booked (2 bed superior apartment) but would provide two 1 bed apartments instead. They said due to flooding. I asked if they had water damage and they said no. I asked about parking and they said that late ant night we may not be able to find on-site parking (a correct prediction). So, shifted because of flooding but the car park may be full. Hmmm. When I pressed the issue saying we had one child and two adults, they offered a free stay at some later time. On arrival, after hours access was fine via the key drop box. However, although one of the two rooms was acceptable, the other room was terrible. Cramped, old and not even close to the advertised standard. So bad in fact that we didn't even bother to ask them for the future free stay they had offered when pressed. General condition of the building also old, cramped and unattractive. Would never even think about returning.

First room stunk of urine & we complained & were without question moved to another. The next room had caulking falling out in shower. Mold in the wardrobe & generally worn out
