We missed a flight out of Naples and overwhelmed with decisions to make quickly, just took a chance on San Cristoforo based on other reviews. What a happy accident! The hotel is such a high quality experience, and we were dumbfounded by our dinner at Line, which should have a Michelin star. We had a three week stay in Rome/Amalfi and stayed at multiple spots and Line was the best dinner, nothing else even close. Talk about making limoncello from lemons! Wow. Also recommend saving yourself the time and expense of a trip to Pompeii. The local suburb of Ercolano has its own archeology park from the Vesuvius eruption, Herculaneum. The hotel offers a free shuttle into Ercolano, and the walk to Herculaneum is only about 15 minutes. They are still uncovering new digs at the park as recently as 2021, and they are breathtaking. Also more informal than Pompeii, and you can wander around Herculaneum and see everything. Amazing to see the tile floors, frescoes and mosaics up close. Be aware the hotel is also a wedding venue and you may have some singing and music, although it does end at a reasonable hour.
We stayed in this Hotel as a Family, we based ourselves here as we wanted a central location to visit many places in Naples and this certainly did not disappoint. Nice clean Hotel with a nice Breakfast, there is a terrace where you can sit at night and even bring your own food and drinks for a peaceful evening or there are many local restaurants. The Train station is handy as just a short walk away and super cheap to use, I would definately use here trains and not Taxi even from the airport get a bus to the main station then a train here. If you want a nice base in a friendly location then this is a place for you.
In my opinion, Palazzo Adele is the best place we ever stayed in. If we go to Ercolano again, it would be our only choice.
The building is very elegant. The terrace on the 2nd floor (or 1st floor in Europe) is spacious. The parking is gated, only opened with a key fob. The room is spotless; I even feel comfortable walking on the floor barefooted.
The owner is such a nice guy! When we arrived, he gave us a warm greeting. He also provided us with some great advice on how to go to visit Vesuvius and Pompeii, as well as where to eat.
In fact, he printed out some useful information, which became our guidebook in the following few days.
We went to the Herculaneum Site as he suggested, spent nearly 2 hours there, only covered 60% of the whole place.
We followed his instruction to purchase the tickets to Vesuvius, and had a great trip there.
We asked about restaurant, he suggested a few of them. We tried the best one on the list, Bistrot Italia, fantastic food, affordable price, nice wine, and impressive service. It was so good that on the day we left, we went there again.
The location of Palazzo Adele is great! Walking distance to almost everywhere (the train
station, the Herculaneum Park, restaurants, The Royal Palace of Portici, oh and an amazing gelato place).
The neighborhood is nice. I remembered we walked through a short tunnel and there was not even a slight trace of urine smell in the air, which was very, very impressive.
All in all, Palazzo Adele is a great place to stay. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the Naples and Pompeii area.
There is a few things to like about this hotel but a lot more to dislike!! Room with balcony with views over the bay of Naples is lovely Breakfast nice but staying for 7 nights it got really repeatative with nothing changing Em that's it I think on likes Location leaves a lot to be desired as nothing nearby it's a good 20 minute walk to any kind of shop, more for a proper supermarket as there is nothing at the hotel Staff unfriendly and I think a it's a chew for them to help in any way Evicted from a sunbed in the pool area on Saturday as a member of public had pre-booked it so absolutely no courtesy for hotel guests Service in restaurant very poor and as a restaurant manager just wanted to give some basic training 😕 Pista resistance left my passports in the room after check-out and after ringing them to go look where I had left them they continued to say they couldn't find them as the room had been cleaned and no sign of them so after asking 3 times to double check they where found so obviously no cleaning was done (they got the passports to me in the end) If I hadn't pressed them hard i would still be in Naples Location is not good and as for previous reviews being 10/12 euros to train station it's not it's 20 euros and getting it there and back to go site seeing soon adds up Overall I would not stay here again and would not recommend
