Very nice place and great bar with log fire, so great during the winter evenings. The food only average with a small menu. Staff friendly and helpful during stay

Beautiful old pub converted into a restaurant with rooms. Great styling and ambience. Lovely, friendly staff. We stayed in the Shepherds Hut, which was gorgeous, very well done. Only reason rated this 4 rather than 5 out of 5 was the area to chill out during the day is quite small, thought it would be bigger and a bit more of a lounge.

The staff were welcoming on arrival and friendly throughout our two-night stay. We had our main meals at the Mason Arms and they were top quality. The Stable Suite is a great room with a great bed, bath and shower. This place is a hidden gem and highly recommended.

Stayed in the shepherds hut for our anniversary and had an absolutely lovely time. It was perfect for autumn, winter snug (in a good way) well furnished and with a log fire. I imagine it would be lovely in summer too as it opens on to the garden. The staff could not have been nicer, Sorin, Gavin and the lovely lady that did housekeeping (didn't catch her name) made us feel so welcome and relaxed. Before we even got there they were super prompt answering questions via email and were happy to help with anything we asked when we arrived. I honestly couldn't have asked for a nicer stay. Thoroughly recommend!

I recently booked a stay at the Artist Residence for my partner's birthday, and it was fantastic! They had flowers and prosecco waiting in our room, which was a nice touch. The room was cozy, clean, and had a cool decor. The staff were super friendly and attentive. We had dinner at the Masons Arms, and it was cosy with a fireplace, and the food was amazing. We also ordered breakfast in our room, and it was delicious. We definitely plan to come back. Highly recommend!

Beautiful pub - stayed in the Farmhouse suite, incredible bath and general room set up. Pub underneath perfect for spending a few hours in front of the fire. Very isolated which was exactly what we wanted. Food was broadly good, fish and chips and fried pumpkin especially tasty. Only minor thing to improve was the shower leaked a lot onto the bathroom floor but otherwise a pretty perfect stay. Thank you!

I LOVED the place - truly quirky and contemporary comfort and style - great food - friendly not overbearing service - great bedding and bed - interesting artwork - coffee machine and fresh milk in the rooms fridge - hand made cookies - one of the best Iv stayed in - I have stayed at several other Cotswolds venues claiming to be boutique/ contemporary etx - and finally I found one that delivered I can’t wait to try some of their other venues

I've stayed all over the world in some crazy gorgeous luxurious places, but I am very much in love with Artists Residence, Oxfordshire. I was traveling with my teenage daughter, and we picked it out online because it seemed quiet and quirky. It was all of that, and so much more! When we arrived, it seemed there was no-one there, but we called inside and were greeted by two absolutely lovely young women who seemed to be running everything :) They helped us to our ABSOLUTEY GORGEOUS room, made sure we knew the time for dinner and breakfast, and also mentioned that if we were tired and didn't feel like going the 10 steps to the pub, they would bring anything we desired to the room. (Which, by the way, was not just a room...it was spectacular!) A few hours later, after a stroll around the surrounding countryside and a beautiful sunset, we did sit down to dinner. Such incredible energy, dogs stretching out in front of the fireplace, friendly people, a warm buzz of conversation, delicious food, attentive service. The next morning we were awakened by a lovely ;tittle poodle in our bed! It was our neighbors...we'd left our patio door open to hear the birds and we ended up with this gorgeous, curly visitor licking our faces. We miss our pets when we travel so it was most appreciated. I still think back on our stay there and think it might have been a dream. It was that good!

This hotel is located in a delightful secluded lane, but is a comforatbly close drive to Oxford. I loved the rooms in the gables. Our party of five people occupied both, so we felt like we'd taken over. We ate in the restaurant every day of our stay, enjoying the food and our conversations with charming host, Sorin. In addition, I can honestly say the bed was possibly the most comfortable I've ever slept in.
