Perfection. On every level. Engaged and friendly staff, beautiful elegant decor and the food is completely next level. Knocks spots off the competition in the area. A variety of options from bar snacks to à la carte. We went a la carte and were not disappointed. We’ve been three times now, and each time they manage to outdo themselves. Bravo to the team, who made our meal so special. Will be back.

We came here for lunch with friends yesterday as visiting the area and had a delicious small meal in the sunny courtyard. We had the duck croquettes and some of us the hummus and pita bread. Both really tasty. Very friendly bar staff and would highly recommend.

My hubby and I had the most glorious meal on Easter Saturday, where chef Sam Squires was at his finest. We kicked off our evening with a glass of house champagne in the cozy wine bar, moving to the Ballroom dining room, a stunning space and yet remains intimate. The service was friendly, discreet and spot on. Every course wowed with taste explosions. I particularly enjoyed my starter, a Carrot Terrine, with a buttermilk and dill veloute, pickled carrot, spring onion, thyme. All the textures and flavours at once, tangy, crunchy, soft and simply delicious. We stayed in the Faringdon room overlooking the market square. Super comfy bed, feather duvet and excellent pillows made for a great night's sleep. The added bonus of a nespresso coffee machine in the room is a nice touch and waking up to a fresh coffee is my perfect way to start the day. Lovely white fluffy bath towels and robes and a great hot and spacious walk in shower. A perfect evening and night and we'll definately be back soon, thank you for having us.

We stayed for one night and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The room was large, airy and very comfortable. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. The egg benedict, at breakfast was particularly good. Thought the building was great and had buckets character as well as being sympathetically restored. We wish them every success going forward.

How wonderful to have this hotel in the centre of Faringdon. Thursday night supper club was a disappointment. Food was tasty but small portions ideal if you are on a low carbon diet. The lamb was very rare, not a problem, but the cut of meat made it impossible to chew. I would suggest forget about the free bottle of rather poor wine and up the content of the food, some chef's bread would have been nice

I stayed in an adjoining room with my elderly mother, who has some difficulty walking. The rooms were beautiful, the food was stunning and the staff were very helpful and attentive throughout. The shower was powerful, and the bed very comfortable. The hotel is full of character, and is well maintained throughout. The log fire in the bar was a real bonus. I would happily stay again.

What a fabulous place to stay for a kid free weekend away with friends. The staff were so very helpful and accommodating and no question was stupid! The rooms were beautifully presented and the beds and pillows were very very comfortable. Very clean and well maintained hotel, love the different areas that give it a coach house feel. Wonderfully situated in the heart of Faringdon, great circular walk taking in the Folly, there's obviously a lot of history here, I'd be happy to visit again. The meal in the Ballroom Restaurant was one of the best meals I've ever had in a restaurant. I would happily eat there again, it was well priced for the fine dining experience that it was. The wine list was full of wonderful options to chose from. And the serving staff were perfectly attentive. Thank you to the staff for making this a wonderful weekend away!!

The Crown just gets better and better; lovely atmosphere, beautiful surroundings and sublime food. The beef tartar and cod on the current a la carte menu are perfect with sauces so lovely that we were drinking them out of the jug. When will Sam get his Michelin star? Can’t be long

An enchanting evening unfolded before us at The Old Crown leaving us with an unforgettable dining experience. The mesmerising ambiance, the exquisite culinary delights, and the exceptional service made our first visit nothing short of phenomenal. My pick of their carefully curated selections included: Starter - Lamb Cake - 10/10 Main Course - Beef - 10/10 Dessert - Tonka Bean - 10/10 As a discerning diner, I was initially apprehensive about the menu's unfamiliar offerings. However, my trepidation quickly transformed into excitement as each course surpassed my expectations. Our culinary journey commenced with a basket of warm, freshly baked bread, accompanied by a tantalizing chili chorizo honey butter, and a duo of innovative "taco" spaceship creations. The butter's velvety sweetness and the tacos' burst of flavor provided a delightful preamble to the meal. The visually striking lamb cake arrived adorned with vibrant pink and green accents, piquing my curiosity. The dish, a delectable fusion of quiche and pâté, introduced me to the wonders of baba ganoush. The pink embellishment revealed itself to be red onion, adding another layer of flavor to this exceptional starter. The main course featured succulent beef, beautifully plated with potatoes, carrots, and a lavish sauce punctuated by capers. The beef, with its impeccable sear, was perfectly cooked, much to my delight. For dessert, I anticipated a traditional rhubarb crumble and ice cream, but was instead presented with an artful arrangement of the constituent elements. The cream cheese spheres enveloped in a tangy rhubarb gel were nothing short of sublime, complemented by the delicate rhubarb accents. Our extraordinary dining experience culminated in a decadent chocolate cappuccino petit four, providing a fitting finale to an outstanding meal. The Old Crown Coaching Inn exceeded all expectations, earning every accolade, including their well-deserved rosettes.
