諾森伯蘭高地養生 Spa 度假屋(Northumberland Heights Wellness Retreat & Spa)

Moi et mon amie avons adoré notre expérience a cette hôtel! Le personnel étais professionnel et as notre écoute, quand nous avions des questions, ils se faisaient plaisir de nous répondre et de satisfaire le mieux possible a nos demandes. L’intérieur es superbe, et il y avais une salle de détente avec des jeux de société, se qui était génial. Le terrain es immense! Pour les restaurants, bien que c’étaient vraiment chère , la nourriture était bonne avec une bonne portion. La chambre que nous avions pris avant 2 grand lit, super confortable et très grande avec un divan, une place de travail ainsi qu’une télévision que nous pouvions facilement brancher son ordinateur dessus pour pouvoir utiliser netflix, disney+… et pour aussi brancher au besoin sa console de jeu vidéo. Bref notre séjour était génial et si jamais nous devons retourner dans ce coins, nous allons certainement choisir cette hôtel !

I always see this on deal sites and I always wanted to come. We booked via a Travelzoo deal and it was easy enough to book. I was struggling with providing a fair rating because I want to acknowledge the extremely hard work the family puts running this place but also be realistic in the services we receive. We arrived on a rainy afternoon to Northumberland. We were checked in swiftly, and the entrance looked very nice and inviting. We were offered a delicious welcome drink while the staff showed us the resort and our rooms. They showed me the women's spa change room and it looked very nice, they showed me where I could borrow some slippers if I needed them. I forgot to bring them but when you go to a spa (even a day spa), they always provide you with slippers. The slippers here were flip flops and they were extremely dirty (mud) and mismatched. I finally cobbled up a pair but they fit very weirdly. I actually spent some time cleaning it myself to make it suitable to wear. We had the first room on the main floor, I was concerned about noise but once we were in the room we did not hear anything. As noted in several previous reviews, the chain to the door was broken. We also mentioned this to the hotel when we checked out. I was also very disappointed to find that we did not have any toiletries in our room, only hand soap. I actually asked the staff about this and they said yes, they provided everything. I just thought this showed lack of detail, I've never ever been to a hotel or even a motel where you did not have basic shower soap. We were only staying a night and my partner happen to pack some soap so it was not even worth bringing up. We had afternoon tea in the dining room and it was a very basic affair. The tea was very nice, but the pastries and sandwiches were very average. However, we enjoyed the atmosphere and it was a nice way to relax. I did note that the afternoon tea and the evening dinner was very close together. I asked if we could shift dinner a little bit later, and they agreed. I had a facial after the tea. My aesthetician took me to the spa through the MEN'S CHANGE ROOM (this will be important later). The treatment was nice, it would not have been worth the full price but the package made it fair. During dinner I could tell that the staff were starting to get tired. I get the feeling this is family owned, and everyone does everything. I could tell they were getting impatient. I understand it's very difficult and hard work, but I should not feel like I have to be on my best behavior to not get on the staff's nerves. However, once we had our meal, everything was forgotten. The dinner was nothing short of exquisite. There was a lot of attention to detail and care to the food. It was so good. The next morning, most of the same staff was working (so again, very overworked, I get it). Although it was a basic breakfast, it was so delicious and the food was piping hot. Pros: Spacious rooms with comfotable beds. Dinner was very tastey. Cons: broken chain on door, laking in amenities, hottubs steam room and saunas (only amenities) close by 7:30pm. Found it not worth the price paid. And I got a wagjag deal...

Me & my best friend enjoyed our Birthday experience very much. Everyone was friendly. I enjoyed that it was a smaller venue. I felt that it gave a more personalized and friendly experience. The resort was very accomodating and the food was tasty. It is a smaller menu but there was something everyone could eat from it. The room was huge but the only thing I would recommend would be a fridge to keep the water cold or an ice bucket so you can place the bottle into it. It was a great price in my opinion. We did go over a very rainy weekend, so we didn't go out and do the trails. We got a massage and facial as our spa treatments and the spa rooms were as they should be, calming and peaceful. I felt wonderful after each as you should. Overall, is it The Ritz, No but it is a little well maintained treasure for those that like remain casual and still leave satisfied and relaxed and not feel like a rushed number among the numbers of other guests.

My husband and I enjoyed celebrating our wedding anniversary at Northumberland Heights Wellness Retreat and Spa. We were absolutely impressed with all our meals, High Tea, Dinner and Breakfast. Our martinis were made to perfection! The waiter suggested a delicious blended martini for me that also included Hibiscus Syrup and garnished with hibiscus! The service was excellent. Our spa treatments were at the same time. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his scalp massage which also included a shoulder massage. The room was lovely and comfortable . We relaxed in the hot-tub and enjoyed the beautiful grounds. We plan to return in the spring and the summer to spend time on the deck overlooking a beautiful view of Lake Ontario.

The experience & stay was wonderful . Mona was absolutely amazing to us. She addressed everything when we asked. The food was absolutely fantastic. Very authentic. I recommend it to anyone who wants who wants a quiet getaway and relax & rejuvenate

Our holiday party was there and it was not a worthwhile experience - vastly underwhelmed by typical hospitality industry look with no substance. I would say a lot has to do with lack of experience/newness our both organizers as the venue. It is located in the middle of nowhere, down a long badly potholed road. Parking was not lit and muddy. The space appeared nice a first glance, but was extremely cramped and improperly temperature controlled. The food was nearly inedible, poor quality and cold, anyone paying would send this food back. Drinks were (ticketed) $9 for beer and $18 for wine. The wait staff pleasant and efficient, but the front desk person had a let's call it strange attitude like 'I am only doing what I was told', and the 'manager' was sharp with our organizers and some staff and conversely (fake) pleasantly mannered with guests. In summary they need a better road, parking, chef, and event manager. I'm sure they will get there in time. Best of luck!

Rooms not done overnight, sauna not turned on in the Am so had to turn on ourselves and wait for it to heat up.

We booked a 3-night stay here for our anniversary. It was a disappointing experience. The staff were all nice and friendly, but there were so many miscommunications and unmet expectations. We booked the couple's package, which was supposed to include a 3-course dinner for each night. We were told on the first night at dinner that this had changed to just one entree each. We were then told on the second night at dinner that there was a $5 surcharge on the steak. The service itself was also inconsistent - servers don't ask if we want salt, pepper, ketchup, sugar/milk, etc. One server misidentified the food in the high tea set. The package was supposed to include a complimentary product worth $75, but at check-out, the staff member had no idea what we were talking about. There was no acknowledgement either that we were celebrating an anniversary - I'd expect something small, even a token, as part of the customer service. The experience left a bad taste in my mouth. It was a shame that our anniversary had to be spent at a place like this. I would say that anyone who chooses to stay here should be very careful and ask lots of questions, because what is communicated is not what you're going to get.
