科羅娜旅館(Corona Guest Farm)

Die Corona Guest Farm war sicher eines der Highlights auf unsere Rundreise und ist im Nachhinein für mehr als zwei Übernachtungen und eine Tag empfehlenswert. Wir waren recht früh dort und unsere Suite war riesig. Die Ausstattung ist originell, der Landlord freundlich und das Dinner, das Annemarie perfekt vorbereitet und serviert hat, wurde mit anderen Gästen gemeinsam eingenommen. Auch die vielen Pflanzen um das Anwesen herum machen es zu einer Augenweide. Wanderer können verschiedene Trails ausprobieren.

Die Corona Guest Farm liegt etwas abseits der Hauptstraße (halbe Stunde). Schon die Anfahrt ist atemberauben schön. Das Gebäude selbst wurde in den 90er Jahren nach einem Brand behutsam auf den alten Fundamenten wieder aufgebaut und hat einen eigenen Charme. Man bekommt das Gefühl, als Gast Teil der Farm zu sein. Man isst zusammen mit allen Gästen an einem Tisch und den Kaffee unterm Sternenhimmel nimmt man gern auch mit den Gastgebern ein... Positiv: - Entspannte Atmosphäre und sehr nettes, gut eingesoieltes Team mit unaufdringlichem Service - Tolle Küche (auch für Vegetarier) - Farmfeeling durch die vielen Bäume, den großen Gemüsegarten (für die eigene Küche), Wasserrad usw. - Toller großer und sauberer Pool mit viel Schatten - Schöne Wanderwege um die Farm - Bequeme Betten Was man wissen muss: Es gibt keine Klimaanalagen, nur Ventilatoren. Wir hatten einen heißen Sommertag ohne Wind - das war nachts herausfordernd. Die 2. Nacht war dann aber etwas kühler. Die Zimmer im Haupthaus sind schöner (stilvoller) als die neueren Zimmer hinter dem Gemüsegarten. Für die Anfahrt ist ein SUV Mindestanforderung (4x4 ist nicht zwingend nötig). Insgesamt ein besonderer, sehr ruhiger Platz, der mindestens einen Besuch über 2 Nächte wert ist.

Corona Guest Farm was a unique experience in our trip through Namibia. The space is a beautiful blend of old school style with a quirky and engaging African character. The fireplace was truly a special spot to cosy-up at night, and the meals we received were hearty and well-considered. As soon as you arrive at the Guest Farm you can see that there is pride and intention etched into its functioning. We also thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with the hosts who made us feel immediately at home. We'll definitely be recommending this spot to anyone who plans on staying in the area

The Corona Guest farm is simply a fantastic place to stay. Janus, Fernando, and the team do a superb job at making everyone feel very welcome. The farm itself has an unbelievable location, the property and the large bedrooms are tastefully decorated – with many very original, unique, and typically Namibian features. Annemarie's home cooking is thoughtful, attentive, and delicious – locally caught and sustainably hunted game cooked over charcoal braai on the terrace is hard to beat. There is so much to see and do, the Gamsberg area is very beautiful. Most of above we appreciated the calm, relaxing afternoons by the pool in the shade of the well-kept garden and the friendly and personal feel of the place.

I took on the responsibility to plan an independent, first journey, self drive, to Namibia for myself and husband. I mapped that Corona Guest Farm would be a good respite after driving from Walvis Bay to the Namib and then back to Walvis. This turned out to be a great, totally unforgettable, for ALL the right reasons, choice. It's half way between WIndhoek and Walvis. Do stop here!! The house is so welcoming, in every way. The staff, when washing our rental car, even noticed we had a puncture (lucky us to be there on site for that!) and changed our tire in no time and insisted we just take our walk before breakfast. When does that ever happen? Thank you! Pool delightful. Breakfast ideal. Other guests very friendly. Beds just right. We were only able to take one of the walks, but it was well marked. There is so much quartz that the ground sparkles. This is the place!! Enjoy!

An excellent place to rest and to be within the Namibian nature. Great service and nice staff. Beautiful garden. The dinner and the breakfast were the best that we have during our holiday. The pool was nice

This lodge was recommended by our travel consultant when planning a trip to Namibia. The lodge is in a very rural location, with lovely views of the countryside. The guest rooms are all well appointed, and the communal entry and lounge is full of eclectic furnishings and decor. We were the only guests as we were travelling in a quiet month which gave us an ‘exclusive’ feeling to our stay. We had dinner, which was exceptionally good. Annabelle, the chef, has a clear talent! Breakfast was equally superb. We did a short hike from the lodge, but we’re not there long enough to do more of the self directed trails. This accommodation is well worth a visit!

The managers and staff of this well run guest farm work very hard to make your stay in the quirky farmhouse enjoyable. The food is mainly produced on the farm and is expertly cooked. We particularly enjoyed the pre-dinner drinks by the fire pit and the “sundowner” drive around the estate, which included the best viewpoint, drinks and snacks of any of the many such drives we enjoyed on our trip to Southern Africa.
