歐霍酒店(Old Hall Hotel)

The Hotel has a perfect situation, but unfortunately it’s in a time warp .Needs a total revamp , decor very tired . Breakfast staff , not very polite and needed to replenish food more efficiently. Unfortunately won’t be staying again , felt like we had stayed at “ Faulty Towers “ .

Room was clean but average, shower head was broken and shower didn’t drain well and smelled. We were asked by receptionist if we would have breakfast at 9.45am by which time there was little food left and what was left was cold, so when the bread and milk was eventually topped up our full English breakfast consisted of toast and weetabix. There was one poor waitress serving all the customers at the same time as dealing with all the flack. “Chef” went home at 10am!!We tried to complain but no managers were prepared to see us and the other people waiting to complain so by 11.30 we left cross, frustrated and hungry. customer satisfaction does not seem to be important!

Disastrous breakfast understaffed food inadequate and very poor tables uncleared, lots of guests complaints. One poor girl did her best but was overall unacceptable. Sausages raw, eggs exhausted in grease, bread and croissants ran out, no fresh fruit. Asked to book a breakfast time online which we did but it bounced back. Avoid.

This hotel should not be classed as 3 star more like 1 star.Our room overlooked the next door Spa terrace which was full people in bathrobes. The net curtains in our room were soiled with bird droppings and the furniture was broken. Dressing table mirror pointing to floor and non adjustable, wardrobe had no handles or key and only 5 hangers for clothes.The carpet was also stained and only 1 bedside table supplied for a kingsize bed. Dinner was pre-booked on the first night but restaurant unaware and after ordering @7.30 we finished meal @ 9.30 We were the only diners. It transpired their were only 3 members of staff on site.The decor of the whole building is in a very poor state considering it is owned by the Ensana Group. Fortunately the bed and bathroom were clean. Also their is no room service and all meals including breakfast have to be pre-booked. The staff did their best but lacked support and training. Our stay was memorable but for the wrong reasons.Your comments would be appreciated.

The Old Hall hotel is charming - it is in the town square of Buxton. The location is fantastic if you re visiting Buxton or neighbouring peak district towns or parks. The hotel is in a period building and should not be expected to be modern. The room was comfortable with a spacious bathroom and good amenities. Reception staff were friendly. Overall a comfortable 1 night stay.

Unique historical property in the heart of Buxton. Good location for local restaurants. Room and beds extremely comfortable and good breakfast too

Lovely old hotel in a great location for the Opera House. Great room , professional friendly staff. Would recommend.

Options of meals was convenient, wonderful gardens and streets lined with shops, Very friendly and helpful staff
