桑樹民宿(The Mulberrys B&B)

I was the Photographer at a wedding in nearby Ballynahinch so me and my Wife chose the Mulberrys B&B for a two night stay. As soon as we arrived we were greeted at the door by the Proprietor Isobel, who made us feel right at home from the start. Once in, she showed us to our room and then brought us tea/coffee to the very comfortable lounge/dining room. We were immediately at ease in her company and straight away it felt like we were at home. Isobel spent a considerable time chatting us so as to get to know us, and allowed us to get to know her without any pushiness, She had that knack of making you feel a part of the family which adds to the initial experience of entering someone else's home for the first time. Good Points. Parking is ample. Easy to find. Ideal location which whilst in the heart of the County Down Countryside, is very close to essential amenities such as pubs, shops, restaurants, petrol stations etc which are just down the road in Crosgar! Entrance Hall/Corridor to bedrooms & dining room was very clean, bright & airy. Bedroom: Welcoming, comfortable & bright and cleaned to a very high standard. Bed was comfortable and the tea/coffee facilities were exactly what you would expect from a 'Top Drawer' B&B. Fresh drinking water was supplied along side the tea making facilities. Ensuite: Very very clean and comfortable and towels etc were of a particular high standard. Nothing could be faulted at all. Lounge/Dining Room: There is a slight international theme to the lounge/dining area, and this room is bright, airy and very inviting. The dining area is roomy. Breakfast: There is a choice of a Continental or Cooked 'Traditional Ulster' Breakfast, (or both depending on your appetite) the latter of which is cooked fresh to order, and YOU get to choose what goes on your plate, which is why you don't mind waiting that extra few minutes for it to arrive well presented on your table. Overall the Mullberrys is a very inviting and relaxing place to stay, and whilst set in a rural location, isn't far off the main road, the grounds are beautiful and birds and young rabbits can be seen in and around the front driveway from the lounge/dining room. This was our first time staying here and whilst it was primarily chosen for business purposes and for location to the venue, rest assured my Wife and I will make a return for purely leisure purposes in the very near future. Now the bad points. Oh sorry, there aren't any! Dang! "Thank you Isobel for a very warm welcome into your home, and for the 5* hospitality you so kindly bestowed upon us during our two night/three day stay at your lovely residence." *Our stay was from 3rd - 5th August 2023, so very recent!* Therefore, We Highly Recommend 'The Mulberrys' B&B, Crosgar, County Down. As others have already stated.... Fantastic breakfast (and options) in the morning to start you off for the day. See pics for full details. Lovely b&b with Isobel being very friendly and helpful with advice etc if you ask her Qs. The room was very clean and tidy, fantastic shower and en-suite along with a comfy bed. Our towels were changed after two days! Parking on site and a lovely garden if you wish to spend any time outside. We attended a family wedding at Tullyeery House, which was about 1-2miles away so this was the closest place but still only about 3 miles from Killyleagh so handily place all round. Isobel goes that extra mile for you. 👍😊

We stayed two nights at The Mulberrys and highly recommend it. We were warmly greeted by Isobel and truly felt like we were staying with family. Upon arrival Isobel had mince tarts and drinks for us in the comfortable lounge. We had two rooms as we were travelling with our 18yr old son. Both rooms were well appointed, including the best refreshment tray we have encountered so far. The snacks and refreshments were thoughtful and generous. The bathrooms looked like they were brand new and were spacious and well designed. The breakfasts were incredible. There was a huge selection of food and Isobel filled us up so we lasted through until dinner (and when you are travelling on a budget, this is such a bonus). Isobel had wonderful tips for us and made our visit personal, warm and memorable. We could not fault our stay, it was perfect in every way and we are so very grateful for the wonderful experience Isobel gave us, making our trip to Ireland even more magical.

I doubt anything I say can do it justice. Absolutely lovely b&b. Rooms are quiet, lovely, have every amenity. Isabel, our hostess, was inviting, warm, friendly yet unobtrusive. Breakfast was perfect. We’re coming back for a longer stay.

An absolutely amazing 3 night stay, quiet location but within distance of lots of lovely places. Isobel was the perfect host, great communications beforehand and gave us lots of tips of places to visit and good pubs in the area. Breakfast was OMG, plentiful and lots of options and Isobel was happy to mix and match. The room was like home from home, comfy bed and fab shower. Lovely views of the hillside. We stayed in NI for 7 nights and this was our best stay. The smiley face on the breakfast plate each day said it all.

A beautiful b&b which was perfect in every aspect, nothing was too much trouble, absolutely spotless throughout. Breakfast was delightful. Can’t recommend this place enough if you’re looking to stay in or around crossgar!

Isobel is the consumate host. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We stayed with 2 other couple after a wedding . The bedrooms are wonderfully furnished for all your needs and the breakfast delicious with a great choice of options. The eggs couldn't be fresher as they come from Isobel's own chickens roaming her gardens . Highly recommended.

Our weekend in The Mulberry B&B was the perfect accompaniment to a wedding we were attending close by. Three couples booked in and we had the best experience. The B&B is beautiful. The rooms have everything you could need and more.. fab bathrooms and even fragrant fresh flowers from the magnificent gardens. Nothing was too much bother for the host, Isobel. A true professional but one of the nicest and friendliest ladies you could wish to meet. And now to the amazing breakfast. The selection and the quality of the produce was top notch. So much great local food brilliantly cooked and service the like of which would be hard to better anywhere. We couldn't recommend The Mulberry B&B highly enough. Thanks Isobel for everything.

Very clean and so friendly.lovely breakfast. Isobel was lovely she went out of her way to make sure we were happy 😊 would vist again just to see her and the dogs and chickens xx
