First, there was no notification when I booked stating that a $100 additional deposit of payment was required before I could check in after already having paid in-full.
...I came in town on any emergency basis to see about an ill relative in the hospital, and I needed to check in and drop my bags off in the room as someone was coming to pick me up. I did not want to put the additional $100 on my card, because I have been burnt my other hotels recently who also required that, and did not return my money to the card. I informed the check-in clerk that I did not have $100 cash on me, and she said there was no ATM in the hotel; I told her of my circumstance of having to get to the hospital and asked if I could give her the money when I returned later that evening. She told me no, and that I could not check in until I gave her the $100 deposit; which I had to borrow from the party there to pick me up so that I could get going.
Under other circumstances, I would have requested an entire refund of my prepaid money of my stay and cancelled it. - In addition I was placed on a 2nd floor room directly next to the elevator, next to an ice machine; and the hotel had a pool with people coming and going all night and early morning in&out of the elevator and getting ice. So while I was in the room only for overnights during my three day stay, I got no more than a couple hours sleep.
Oh, and also the TV was stuck on only one channel, with only the volume working on the remote.
