Lovely hotel with good central location to the town of Dartmouth and both ferry services. Cosy bar area, good breakfast with plenty of options, including the full English with high quality produce. Clean and tidy room with en-suite and friendly welcoming staff.

A warm welcome and a glass of fizz offered on arrival! Clean reasonably sized room with nice decor. Ensuite fine too. Great location which was quiet as well as being a very quick and flat walk to river front/town. Parking voucher for £8 in public car park (again very close by) but could park outside hotel to drop off and collect luggage. Cooked breakfast was tasty and not to heavy. The bread for the toast could be improved.

This is a hidden gem!! A family run hotel in a great location, fabulous attention to detail, really warm & friendly staff. Food was fantastic and amenities were great. We stayed for two days just after Easter this year and we would definitely return!

We stayed at Browns in early January 2024. It was a really lovely place, very good location and parking provided a couple of minutes walk away. The rooms were spacious and provided everything needed. We enjoyed dinner the night we arrived which was very tasty. If you are vegan I would recommend you ask for what you need as the wonderful people running the hotel and restaurant are more than happy to meet your needs.

Browns was an old fashioned hotel in a good location with friendly staff. It had all that was needed, clean and cmfortable. Car parking was in a public car park in the town, a small issue. Overall a good place to stay. The restaurant provided an OK English breakfast.

We booked a last minute break for one night when we saw the weather was going to be better in Dartmouth than the rain soaked place we live in. On arrival my husband dropped me outside the hotel so I could pick up the parking pass for the main car park. I wasn’t to enamoured with the strange smell on entering Browns, I don’t know what it was. The parking pass was great, we parked easily as it was in January. The only thing I would say about the pass was that we were not sure that the room number should be printed on the side you display. By all means print it on the back but letting people know where you are staying and in what room seemed a possible problem. We didn’t eat at Browns as we had other plans. But we did have breakfast which was great, the one lady serving did very well to keep up with the tables. Our room was the basic double and it was fine for one night, not as nice looking as the photos on the website for the other rooms, but it was clean. The bed was a small double and we both thought the duvet was a tad too small for the bed. We are not big people so managed with it but it hardly hung over the side of the bed. Being tucked up a side street seemed to mean it wasn’t busy in the bar on a Saturday night, which was a shame as it looked a lovely bar to sit and have a drink in. Just had to drop the pass back to the hotel once we had packed the car up.

Polite, friendly staff. Smooth check-in & out. Comfy room which was a nice temperature (usually find hotel rooms far too hot). Great food in the restaurant. Nothing to complain about!

Comfortable and attractive room, although none of the furniture matched so it looked a bit like a collection of odds and ends. Staff were friendly and attentive. Everything was clean and tidy, with ground coffee, tea, water available in the room. Very loud bathroom fan! The bed was comfortable and the bed linen and pillows were good quality. We didn't eat in the bistro but the menu was varied and three was plenty on it that I would have liked to try. There was a wide choice for breakfast and the portions were generous and of good quality, but the service for the hot food was slow even though times were booked in advance to help the waiting staff. Parking is always an issue in Dartmouth so it was useful to have a pass for the main car park, which is about 5 minutes away.

hotel room was comfortable and clean.Food okay ,however service at breakfast was dire we arrived at 8.30 and did not receive our breakfast till 9.30 we received no form of apology or information as to why our breakfast took an hour to cook.
