阿斯託里亞酒店(Hotel Astoria)

Very comfortable and clean hotel in centre of Desenzano. Good fresh breakfast. Lovely Lake view from roof top terrace. Helpful staff.

Cet hôtel situé à proximité du lac offre pour une prix très correct une solution d'hébergement confortable avec parking. L'accueil est très chaleureux et le parton il se fera une joie de partager un eu de temps avec vous. Nous étions de passage mais c'est sûr nous y retournerons

Ho soggiornato qui solo una notte, ma ho trovato cortesia, ambiente confortevole e trattamento familiare. Posizione ottima vicinissimo al lago di Garda e al centro storico di Desenzano. Segnalo inoltre la loro disponibilità e capacità a risolvere un mio problema di prenotazione per il quale avrei dovuto rinunciare al soggiorno. Complimenti e arrivederci.

Premetto che ho prenotato da Bologna( ed ho dovuto saldare l'intero costo del soggiorno,appena arrivata in albergo)Mi ero prefissata(e,quindi pagato,per l'appunto)dal 26/07 al 31/07/2021 (5 notti) ma,per il trattamento che ho ricevuto dal propretario dell'hotel, ho interotto la vacanza un giorno prima della data prestabilita. Passo ad elencare le note dolenti:camera dal mobilio datato,( ma su questo particolare si potrebbe,anche, sorvolare)ma quel che è peggio,consiste nel fatto che mi e' stata assegnata un camera senza l'indispensabile, ovvero, priva di sapone e carta l'igenica, per di piu' nel armadio ho trovato una spessa coltre di polvere, alla quale ho provveduto personalmente,ripulendo l'interno, per poter riporre i miei indumenti. Il bagno in camera esalava un odore terribile di fognatura.Oltre tutto per via della colazione veramente scadente (con un tipo di brioche vuota ed unta) alla mia domanda di poter avere altri tipi di brioches, mi e' stato richiesto un supplemento. Quindi,rivolgendomi al proprietario,in maniera gentile per fargli notare questa anomalia, lo steso ha reagito, avvicinandosi a me in maniera aggressiva,e con aria minacciosa,risposndendomi ad alta voce,che se non mi fosse andato bene questo tipo di colazione sarei potuta andarmene ,manifestando,di fatto, un arroganza tale da indurre la priopria moglie ad intervenire per allontanarlo da me. Questo comportamento sconsiderato ed insostenibile da parte de proprietario mi ha indotto a lasciare l'hotel con un giorno di anticipo,scelta obbligata, dopo un tale maltrattamento ricevuto,seppur perdendo la quota di un prenotamento. A fronte di un cosi basso livello di stile,consiglio a tutti di non andare,non andare, non andare !!!

We had a great time at the Astoria! We spent 4 nights here early September 2023 Very clean, helpful friendly staff, great location. The hotel is basic and the decor may be a little outdated (but I found it quite charming 70’s vibes I particularly enjoyed the gold lift) but I really can not find fault. We felt very comfortable here. Very clean environment, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. The air con was also brilliant. Breakfast was simple but again I can’t fault what was provided. Fresh baked croissants, toast, cereals, cakes, ham and cheese, Eggs, tea coffees and fruit juices. They also have a lovely roof terrace with chairs and sun loungers. The location was great literally a minute or so to a little pebble beach. A 10 minute walk along the lake to the boats that take you across to the other towns. Very close to some great bars and restaurants Thank you for a great stay!

AVOID! The little man who oversees/rules breakfast with an iron fist yelled and swore at me. What horrendous behaviour did I engage in, what faux pas, what cultural norm did I inappropriately break I hear you ask? I asked for a clean cup! Yes, haven drunk tea from one cup, I asked for a clean cup for coffee. When Basil Fawlty refused to give me a clean cup I removed one from an empty table, this pushed him into an apoplectic rage in which he stood over me screaming and swearing then proceeded to berate me to 2 other guests. On the bright side it was really amusing watching him fawn over the other guests as he followed them around the dining room, he cornered a poor German man and thrust a sausage at him with the man protesting with a clear no. If you like Karen's diner then this is the place for you...though don't argue back or as you can see from previous posts he will threaten to remove you from the hotel. On a positive note the evening receptionist, Amir, and the woman who cleaned the room were model employees.

A really quiet and lovely hotel. Josef the owner was very kind when I was unwell with anaemia and looked after me. Really close to the amenities, nice breakfast and comfortable bed. The roof terrace was very pretty too with a lovely view of the lake.

We weren’t bothered that the hotel was described as dated, having read other reviews, as often that has its own charm in Italian hotels. Unfortunately this hotel isn’t run by Italians so that’s where the charm vanishes. Run by some very rude and arrogant men it is strange and inhospitable. We definitely felt uncomfortable as two women friends. The breakfast buffet was poor with limited choice and they have a strange practice of leaving all the dirty crockery etc until the very end of the service period. So you sit surrounded by dirty plates on all the tables.

Location - 5-10 mins walk to Desenzano Town, you can also take a boat for €6 return to Sirmionie. Loads of restaurants and boutique shops, the lake is also right there. Hotel/Room - Hotel a little dated, the rooms were clean and had air con, good wifi. Food: Continental breakfast, was ok. Staff: Very friendly and helpful! 😊
