This hotel is one of the most expensive properties in the area and seemed to be a good fit based on location and being a well-known hotel chain.
Overall though, my experience was mixed. Good parts were the breakfast which was well priced with a good selection of food options and friendly staff. The room itself was OK with clean bedding and overall the room hygiene was OK.
Less good things was the check-in - apparently early check-in is not a thing at this hotel, which is a bit odd/unhelpful with the hotel being located at an airport. Second was the rather off-hand way I was treated when I asked about early check in, like I was interrupting the front desk person from a more important task.
The check-in desks are rather small tables at the end of the reception area and seemed a little odd. When I finally checked in later in the evening, I did have to wait a few minutes while the check-on person finished a conversation with someone else that did not sound hotel/work related.
The front desk did not mention where the restaurant for breakfast was located or what times the restaurant opened. Finally the room was a bit spartan at this price point and the heat/cool didn't seem to work right, so the room was quite cold.
This hotel may work for someone needing a place to crash before an early flight from East Midlands Airport. For me though, this hotel is somewhat unimpressive and I do not plan to return.
