I think this will be a nice stay once their remodel is done, but wait until then.
When booked initially, the reservation was for the Hard Rock Hotel. About a week and a half before I arrived, NYX acquired the building. We received no notification about this from either business. The hotel was slightly outdated and undergoing the beginnings of redecoration. The staff seemed to either be hired by NYX and unfamiliar with the hotel or previous employees who were unfamiliar with the new management’s policies. For example, the manual chain lock on my door had been disabled in both of our rooms and the staff at the desk didn’t seem to understand how it had happened. They did move me to a room with a working manual lock immediately, but didn’t seem to understand why I felt the need for one as a single woman in the room and assured me that the staff would respect my privacy. The person in the other room in our booking also had his disabled but didn’t want to bother moving. The next day, housekeeping barged into his room without waiting for an answer to her knock. The person inside was just finishing dressing.
Other than that, it’s just little things that haven’t yet been worked out in the management change. For example their card scanners in the rooms and elevators seem to be new and still finicky, and the person at reception hadn’t read the laundry policy on the NYX laundry slips in the rooms. The slips specified it would be back by 6pm if picked up by 8am, but she said it might be the next day. She also had me bring the laundry down to the reception desk when the slip said it would be picked up. The staff was actually really great and when I pointed it out I did get same day laundry; it seemed like a new management miscommunication.
Overall, I’d recommend staying here after they’ve had a chance to settle and remodel. They were already starting to take down the Hard Rock decorations and I suspect they will also redo the older and brightly colored carpets and walls. Since we didn’t receive any notifications about the new management and redecorating, I’m not sure there will be one about that either.
For comfy rooms near all the best live shows in Dublin, look no further than our Premier Inn Dublin City Centre (North Docklands) hotel. Thanks to our spot near Point Village, we’re just a short walk away from The Convention Centre Dublin on Spencer Dock and the popular 3Arena, which means you’ll have a stylish base to return to after live events and exciting performances. Dublin Port is on our doorstep too if you’re planning on getting ferries from Dublin, or why not head into the city centre and visit attractions like EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum or Temple Bar? In the evenings, you can head back for some great-value meals in our Thyme restaurant before snuggling into one of our super-comfy beds for the night.
Super location, quiet but with the tram on the doorstep to get out and about in Dublin. Apartment absolutely fantastic with Smeg appliances, dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge with freezer, microwave grill and two ring halogen hob. Large glass window (no opening) we had good view of the river Liffey. King size bed with more than enough bedding - please note the bed is very low, just off the ground so could present difficulties for some people getting in and out. The Apartment block was big but there was very little noise. The blackout cutains were stuck to the wall on each side eliminating any light coming through when closed, a nice touch, assisting with a good night's sleep. The Apartment had a 48inch 360 degree turning Samsung TV with an acceptable number of channels. The bathroom was of a good size with a super walk in shower. Soap etc was provided. Our visit was for one week and the Apartment was cleaned and towels/bedding changed on the fourth day. Limited tea and coffee was present upon arrival but the friendly receptionist did stress that if we needed anything then please ask which we did and more tea etc was provided. There was enough storage space for our clothes for the week. In the wardrobe was a safety deposit box, free of charge, plenty big enough for any valuables, passports etc. A big bonus was that we arrived at 1230hrs expecting to leave our cases there but fortunately were able to be booked in and have access to our room immediately.
訪訪客We arrived around 5.30pm and stayed only one night. The welcome drink was a nice touch but however in the morning there was lots of banging next door to our room. My husband was up all night with a cold so we hadn’t slept much. When we walked out of our room at 9.30 am to have breakfast the cleaners were sitting in armchairs with their vacuums and cleaning g products. It felt like they were waiting for us to go. When we returned to our room to pack up ( check out is 12) there was a knock at our door at 11.30 by cleaners. It felt like a lot of pressure for us to get out and no privacy as they were siting outside.
The staff at breakfast hovered and were on top of us and asked us to order straight away before we even read the menu. The wait for the food was long and my eggs were cold when they came out.
There is no lift to our floor so passing the cleaners sitting in armchairs we also passed cleaners sitting on the stairs. The whole experience felt unwelcoming and not private.
The hotel it self is well located and beautiful interiors but wouldn’t stay there again. We have stayed at a lot of boutique and 5 star hotels all over the world and this was just average.
訪訪客To be honest, it's kind of a coinflip whether you'll get a room with 7 other people who are snoring, you get a room where you could hear a spelt drop to the floor or in between. But, in exchange for that you'll get a hostel with super friendly staff, great people to meet ( specially the long time stayers in the hostel which have been rated bad in other reviews but are actually great people to talk to ).
訪訪客I stayed in a 4 bed mixed dormitory. Beds were very clean, and there waa enough space to store my travel belongings. There was no noise from other rooms, and the shower and toilet inside the room was clean and functional too. 15 to 20 minute walk to Temple Bar, another 10 minute from Temple Bar to Trinity Collegr. Had no problem walking from the accomodation to other points of interests in Dublin. Overall, a great value for travellers. Tip: Do reserve breakfast. The bread is warm if you go in the opening hour, and you can eat enough to last for both breakfast AND lunch while walking all day. Save the lunch budget for better dinner.
訪訪客Lovely budget hotel about 20 mins walk from Temple Bar area. Upon arrival nothing was too much and a warm welcome from Diana , giving us a coffee as we had come in on an early morning flight. Rooms were clean and basic. Comfortable bed , lovely clean shower room with powerful shower. A bit tight for room but it was only a base to get our heads down and change. There is a vending machine for morning coffee … easy walk into town… just follow the tram tracks , and easy for the Guinness Storehouse and Jameson Distillery. Excellent value for money if you’re going to be spending most of your time away from the hotel , but comfortable enough to unwind for a few hours too.
