克拉倫斯酒店(The Clarence)

Last time I stayed here ( about 6 years ago?) room was dirty so have not been back again until three weeks ago. Location is superb right at the edge of Temple bar along the River Liffey -downside its a party area so like most Hotels in this area dont plan to sleep until late as lots of noise from bars etc. Room was lovely with lots of nice touches -only big issues I had was in 12c Dublin coming from 32c Jakarta and central heating did not work-you have to call reception to get it switched on then it cuts off every hour and does not work again until you call reception-totally unacceptable for a 5 star Hotel . Ended calling them five times so not much sleep!! It was a Tuesday night so looked like one of the bars in the Hotel was shut-but lots outside anyhow. Did not have breakfast as last time I did was served-took ages and was cold-judging by recent reviews on tripadvisor looks like this still. Reception on check in and out would not win any prizes for their hospitality and were just ok-could learn from The Morrison across the river where I stayed a few nights earlier -genuine hospitality. Would I stay there again -NO -leave it to Bono and the locals -heat is a basic requirement as is hospitality-better Hotels for the same or less money to be had in Dublin City.

Perfect location. Hotel is simple and rustic. No AC (which is fine, it’s Ireland) but we had an interior window that faced the sunrise so it warmed up rather quickly. Thankful for the soundproof windows bc there was a hopping bar below us w thumping music well into the early morning. But again, with this, air flow became a challenge at night. Grateful for the door fan which was provided. Hotel staff were helpful and provided us w an adaptor promptly.

Perfekt läge, nära till det mesta. Något högt ljud om man bor på baksidan. Trevlig och tillmötesgående personal. Vi som familj var helt nöjda.

Loved this hotel. It's old but updated and it's unique. The only thing we didn't like is we were not told it doesn't have AC (only on first floor) so the room was quite warm. Had to open the windows. No venting in the bathroom so after a shower it's all steamed up you cant breathe. BUT setting that aside this location was AMAZING. Hotel is beautiful and I would stay again, just on the first floor where the AC is located.

Dieses Hotel hat seinen ganz besonderen Charm, individuelle Einrichtung, gemütlich und sauber. Wir haben sehr wohl gefühlt!!!

My friend and I stayed at The Clarence March 12-18, 2023. I wanted to book a decent hotel in the Temple Bar area for St. Patrick’s day. We were both very pleased with the hotel and the location. We were pretty busy sightseeing during the daytime, so our interaction with hotel staff was minimal, but the front desk was helpful the few times I talked to them and Ben the bartender in the lobby was great! (Hi Ben!). Our room was 210 which was in the back of the hotel. I was concerned about noise at night, but we didn’t hear much on the weeknights. Thursday and Friday nights (March 16&17) we could hear a little more partying noises coming from the street below, but again, minimal and not enough to keep us awake, or to need ear plugs. When I visit Dublin again, I will try to book the Clarence.
