菲格斯旅館(Fitger's Inn)

I've stayed at Fitger's Inn before and even organized a regional union meeting at Fitger's. Everyone loves Fitger's Inn--historic spot, great location, amazing shopping, access to lake walk, you name it! During our most recent stay, however, we lost a lot of sleep after midnight to noise in the hallway and then in the room next to us (I'll spare the details, but, suffice to say, I never wanted to know my neighbors THAT well). In previous stays, I never noticed that the walls were so thin at Fitger's. We stayed in a lake-side, 3rd-floor room. Maybe the city-side rooms or other floors have better sound insulation? Anyhow, the noise was probably a one-off incident and no discredit to the hotel staff, but I think we'll choose another hotel next time--there are currently a lot of great options in Duluth at better prices. Regrets.

Top notch quality and staff. Excellent views of the lake. Each room has its own layout and charm.

The room I stayed in was very comfortable, and the staff extremely friendly. The location is great. My one gripe is that both the heater and fan in the room are extremely loud - at some point in the night I had to just get up and turn off the heat so it would be quiet.

Getting to our room on the fifth floor from the parking area was a painful challenge (lots of steps and walking) fo a pair of arthritic 70 year olds. Confusing time getting around. Believe it or not, this property is a couple of winding city blocks worth of ***** mall shops and a five story hotel - all under a common roof! There are LOTS of stairs and two or three different elevators sprinkled throughout that will take you in Twilight Zone fashion to different unfinished attic areas - instead of the fifth floor penthouse when you press "5" in the "wrong" one. Why the 5th Floor button is not locked out to non-employees in some elevators is a good question. A laminated map posted every 100 feet like you see in most malls with a "you are here" legend would also have been welcome. We were perpetually lost and never ever quite understood how we finally (after many attempts) found our room. Even a simple paper map might have worked. My wife's a retired Registered Nurse and I'm a retired Electrical Engineer - no strangers to following procedure. LOL. In spite of this, the hotel staff here were all the most kind, respectful and energetically helpful young people that we've encountered in decades. No woke antisocial behavior here at Fitzgers and "hats off" to the very fine folks here in Duluth, Minnesota, who raised them. Would we come back again? Yes, because of the fine staff, who make this place work, but only if a first floor room was available. Thanks!

Great location and view of Lake Superior! Very friendly and accommodating staff. We took advantage of the free shuttle service several times.

We stay here every year. We love the convenience of staying in one place to shop, eat get some drinks and stay out of the cold. The staff is always super friendly and helpful.

The staff were incredible. Everyone was so nice and helpful during our stay. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in Duluth.

The room was clean and had a slight view of the lake even though it was labeled Cityside. The heating system was not working so temp stayed too cool and the fan ran all night. It was fairly late when I discovered this so I didn’t inform the front desk until morning. I ate at the Boat Club restaurant and the food and the view were lovely. I parked in the ramp (didn’t check the side lot) so it was a bit of a haul with luggage. Check the side lot first!

We love Fitgers Inn, it feels like a quaint and unique place amongst standard hotel chains.
