達拉姆酒店(The Durham Hotel)

My visit was decent with a few exceptions - the rear rooms back right up to a restaurant or bar that was blasting music until 2am. It was loud to the point of being able to feel the base on my pillow. Another issue was with the snarky attitude of some of the employees. Complimentary coffee is given to each room at the time chosen on the door slip. After coffee was not received 45 minutes past the time chosen for delivery, I called to reception simply requesting status. The employee expressed a very condescending attitude, asking if I had “checked outside the door”. Of course I did and that is why I was calling. They then proceeded to delivery my a bag of coffee grounds instead of the prepared coffee as requested. Overall I would say this place is by no means worth the price tag of a “four star hotel”.

The hotel is a little dated. The rooms and the beds are very comfortable and nice. One of the female receptionists was a bit rude and had a standoffish attitude, which really took me aback. I was not expecting that kind of service at a place like The Durham.

Staff was great. Restaurant and roof top bar was also a treat. Everything is good walking distance.

Charming hotel with lots of quirky and retro details. Stayed two nights on a work trip and loved the location and various amenities. Walls are very thin so can hear everything in the rooms adjacent to mine

The property was dated. The shower tile was chipped, the carpet was dated.

It’s supposed to be a luxury hotel but it has quite a few less than satisfactory aspects. 1. The restaurant is the lobby and quite unattractive. The walk in shower door leaks terribly and get the towel and floor wet. There is no towel rack for the hand towel. The TV has no way to connect a device- no ports and no device sharing app. Oh yeah also : no dresser in the room for clothes. Overall while clean it is below par certainly for the price.

Loved this place! Decor is chic and well-curated, staff was lovely, and place was clean. It's also in a great area, near lots of great bars and restaurants.

Other than a staff member accidentally knocking on our door at 9:10 am, everything was perfect. From the checkin, valet, dinner and drinks, to checkout and coffee walking out the door - top notch. We’ll be back!

This visit was my 2nd stay at this hotel, and I was pleasantly surprised that it was still the same nice place that I remembered. The location is perfect. It’s close to everything in downtown Durham. The area is eclectic and lively. The restaurant scene is amazing with so many options for cuisine. The staff at the hotel are very pleasant and upbeat. I really enjoyed it, and I will return again as I visit NC yearly from the Philadelphia area to see my daughter. If you like a quirky, upbeat mid-century modern designed a**osphere with a great rooftop bar and you’re looking for a reasonably priced hotel, stay here.
