In general，it is good.

Ostello sulla Royal Mile a 10 minuti a piedi dal castello, praticamente vicino a tutto. Sono tutti molto gentili e la struttura è molto pulita sia nelle camere che negli spazi comuni. La cucina è ben fornita di piatti, padelle e spazio per muoversi e per riporre il proprio cibo. La zona svago/relax adiacente ha molti tavoli per mangiare, un biliardo e divani. Onestamente ha superato le mie aspettative. Letto comodo e camera spaziosa con anche una scrivania (camera da 4). Essendo in una struttura storica non ha ascensore.

When checking in for my stay, the reception worker was telling me all the usual information for when you check in, and I asked if I would need a lock for my locker or if one was provided. The reception worker (I later found out his name is Raj) raised his voice and said not to interrupt him, finished his speech, and practically threw the keys at me. He did not answer my question and I was too embarrassed and shaken by him raising his voice and being generally very unfriendly that I just went up to my room. Thankfully, there were locks built into the lockers. Then, when I was leaving I stopped and asked him if he had any suggestions for things for me to do in Edinburgh...he in a really rude and loud tone said "No." and then went back to talking to another employee. Everything else was fine about my experience here but I will not be staying here again. I was shocked at how rude the staff member was.

Best hostel I’ve been to! Visited Edinburgh a number of times and every time we stay here. The staff are always so friendly, the rooms are clean, it has such a great atmosphere, the common area is a great place to meet new people and hang out. Always feel super welcomed and safe here. It’s also in an excellent location very close to the centre of Edinburgh and easy to walk to most places in the city from here. I would highly highly recommend anyone visiting Edinburgh to stay here. I will 100% be back again

I went in February 2021, and just now writing a review because I'm going back to Edinburgh and stumbled upon this place again. I only used the hostel as a place to sleep at night as we were doing a lot of exploring. I was in the biggest mixed gender room. Beds were fine, one bathroom with multiple showers for all of us. Even in Feburary, the room got stuffy and hot at night, waking me up. Additionally, there were two people having a snoring war which was unpleasant at 3 AM to say the least (I realize this is the danger of booking a large room but just sharing my experience). Also be aware of people getting up and leaving early with loud alarms due to this being a travelers hostel. Decent place and good enough amenities. Good - location - beds comfy enough - outlets by beds - nice front desk Bad - hot and stuffy at night (in February) - would love for more toilets and showers for the amount of people - snorers (not something the hostel can change) - not a social environment - people come back late / leave early with no concern for people sleeping

Super accueil, super ambiance, très chaleureux et très convivial, un décor original dans lequel on se sent très bien, les clins d'oeil à la pop culture (nom des chambres) très sympathiques. Très appréciable, la bagagerie gratuite et la possibilité d'utiliser la cuisine commune. Et pour finir, extrêmement bien placé, en plein centre de Old Town (rue forcément un peu bruyante, mais hôtel en lui-même très calme). Une excellente adresse où nous aurons plaisir à revenir si nous repassons à Edimbourg.

Due to rail strikes we weren’t able to keep our reservation here, but the communication was good and we resolved our accommodation query quickly and fairly. We emailed and received a response very promptly so we were happy with the fast response
