佈雷旅館(Brae Guest House)

Firstly the pros.. Very clean and warm with comfortable bed. Pros.. You never see the owner or any staff, w stayed for two nights and there s no replenishment of tea/coffee in the room, the main disappointment is that this is supposed to be bed and breakfast which to us meant a fried breakfast, instead it was cereal bars, yoghurt and stale cornflakes. No welcoming atmosphere at all the dining room was soulless. Is also on a very busy road but bus stop is nearby. I have tried to give a fair opinion but this is not a b&b and the price should reflect that

Der Besitzer war immer sehr hilfsbereit - sei es bei einer späten Ankunft oder als ich mein Gepäck nach dem Auschecken noch dort lassen wollte oder sonst etwas brauchte. Das Zimmer und Bad waren tadellos sauber bei meiner Ankunft. Sie wurden nicht jeden Tag gereinigt, aber das ist aus meiner Sicht auch nicht nötig. Die Unterkunft war sehr ruhig. Das Frühstück war für mich nicht ideal. Es gab zahlreiche süße Gebäckteile und gezuckertes Müsli sowie Marmelade. Aber wenn man etwas wollte, das nicht süß ist, blieb nur Toast mit Käse, und das 5 Tage lang.

kamer voor 4 personen met douche. Kleine kamer met een kleine douche. bedden lagen wel goed. Wel veel verkeers lawaai tijdens het slapen met het raam open anders was het erg warm op de kamer. Het ontbijt hebben we maar overgeslagen, croissants waren erg droog. voor het ontbijt heb je even verder op een leuk café waar je heerlijk kunt eten voor een normaal bedrag of de Mac Donalds. Het is geen Guesthouse waar we nog een keer naartoe zullen gaan. Voor het bedrag wat we betaald hebben was het zeker niet voldoende. Hoewel de gastheer zeer vriendelijk was is een update van de kamers en het ontbijt wel op zijn plaats. De ligging ten opzichte van de stad is gunstig, voor het Guesthouse is een bushalte wat wel ideaal is. 1.80 pond enkele reis is zeker niet duur.

I stayed at the Brae Guest House for four nights this week. I booked a single room with private bathroom which to my horror was at the end of the corridor which if it had been stated as a separate private bathroom I would never have booked it smelt of badly of damp so I went around to the supermarket to buy air freshener. The owner is never there and doesn't stay overnight so I didn't feel very safe as there was no one to help on the premises if needed. The first time I saw the owner was next morning at breakfast when he suggested I should pass on the cooked breakfast as he didn't want to do it !So I settled for muesli and toast instead.By day four all the muesli had gone and wasnt replenished so I was stuck with bargain bucket cornflakes on my final morning and a teapot with a broken lid.The bedroom was clean and the sheets were changed midweek,Wi-Fi good, tv worked and the bed was fairly comfortable. The majority of the good reviews are for the previous owners and to be honest I have stayed in better hostels than here. Would I recommend absolutely NOT

The room we stayed in was a nice size and it had an extra single bed,very clean and tidy,I just wish it had a bedside lamp.The bathroom was lovely,nice shower.This is a nice B&B for a short stay and it's not too far from the city centre.

This was the second bed and breakfast my family stayed at in Scotland. Our first was a self catering, which means all food is your responsibility, so we were hoping for a better experience. I have to say that the Brae House was amazing. It’s a converted home to a B&B, but there was enough room for my family of four. The owner was super friendly and helpful. The check in was seamless and when we had any issues, my wife accidentally tripped a breaker, he fixed it without any frustration. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. It’s close to a bus stop, so getting to the city center was very easy. I would definitely stay there again.

Very comfortable and pleasant environment for a single woman visiting Edinburgh. Nice breakfast, great coffee. Friendly and helpful staff.

Owner is remarkably responsive and friendly. Quiet and easily able to get to old town Edinburgh by bus. Local restaurant, The Willow, is excellent

We booked the family room for a weekend. The host was very accommodating as we have arrived way earlier than expected and were allowed to check in and rest. Also, we had diet requirements and the host was happy to cater for.
