Enjoyed every minute of are 2night break , easy to find and park excellent service , good food and lovely sauna break . A wonderful stay thank you .

Pleasant hotel to stay at, good spa facilities but I’ve never had to pay for the use of spa towels before which was quite surprising (£1.50 per towel) restaurant including breakfast was very good, we stayed in room number 21 although a quirky room not very practical due to the sloping ceilings in the bedroom and the shower over the bath also had a sloping ceiling and if you are no more than 4ft in height this room would be ok for you. Room also needs to be updated ie broken window latch and shower head holder. However I would return to this hotel but definitely not in room 21 and I’d also take my own towel with me to use in the spa.

So disappointing. The property itself looks imposing and rather beautiful. But inside, the best that can be said for it is that it’s tired and needs some serious inves**ent. Amenities are below par - especially as it is billed as a 4*. Basics often found in 2/3* properties were missing; decent toiletries, bath robe, proper room service, coffee-maker etc. With a few exceptions, service is poor. The initial ‘welcome’ was unfriendly bordering on rude, likewise check-out. The spa is pretty basic, the hot tub wasn’t working and the ladies changing rooms were not clean. This doesn’t stop them charging you extra, extra, extra wherever they can. In fairness, the therapist giving us our facials was wonderful.

Wasnt happy that the hot tub was not working. Was really looking forward to using it, so was very disappointed. Toilet cistern wasnt working properly in the room so water was constantly running. Was offered another room but we declined as this was near where staff were coming and going so were concerned about any noise. We come here quite often and even have a stay booked for August, but on this occasion it was not the best.

This hotel provided a very clean room, with daily room service. The breakfast was varied and plentiful with constant refilling of food by the staff, who were very attentive and helpful. Our room was away from the main building and up 3 small flights of stairs. There doesn’t appear to be any lifts in this hotel. The slanted style of the ceilings in the bathroom and bedroom meant we couldn’t shower standing up in the bath and made it awkward getting out one side of the bed. There was no mirror over the sink for shaving in natural light which would have been useful. Also the television was very small for a hotel with a four star rating and the decor a bit tired. We had a comfortable stay here but we wouldn’t go back.
