Snap! Like the previous reviewer I booked at Black Pearl. Consequent to the collapse/liquidation/receivership of Air Vanuatu Black Pearl would not refund my booking, made through a travel agent in advance of my intended visit. I lost a considerable sum of money for something well beyond my control. Insurers won't pay out if an airline goes into receivership. With no airline, I could not get to Espiritu Santo! DONT PAY IN ADVANCE at this resort, is my warning!!! They took my money. Management gives the clear impression that they don't care about customer satisfaction but rather that 'money is King.' They need to take a more holistic approach to customer's needs, particularly in situations well beyond a customer's control...like an airline going 'under.' The resort might well be one of the best in the Vanuatu island chain... but that only adds to the point that if you are one of the best resorts that ethos should be applied holistically, and not just to the experience of on-site guests. I wonder how many other people have been 'short-changed' in this way? It's not the way to encourage repeat visits or positive WOM...

Air Vanuatu went into receivership. I was unable to get to black pearl. Now they will not refund my accommodation money. Poor show black pearl...grabbing the money won't work as a business strategy. Feel guilty...provide a refund. Not recommended possible issues of integrity.

We had the pleasure of staying at the amazing Black Pearl resort for 6 nights in April 2024 and wholeheartedly recommend the resort for a luxury stay on Espiritu Santo. Our Bungalow was spacious and well appointed with everything we needed, as well as a private deck overlooking the beautiful gardens and ocean. The snorkeling onsite was incredible and we enjoyed every meal at The Black Pearl Restaurant and Bar - pizzas were a highlight! The location was perfect with blue holes and tours in close proximity, and the service we received was unmatched. We can’t wait to come back for another stay at Black Pearl Resort!

The Black Pearl Restaurant and Bar and Resort is ABSOLUTELY the BEST PLACE TO STAY IN VANUATU. Fantastic Oceanfront Bungalows, Private Oceanfront Pool Bungalows, Stunning Water views, beautiful grounds, very friendly staff. The owner, Ivo, is a very personable friendly owner that makes everyone feel like they have known him for years. You can snorkel, swim, float or just relax on the private beach. Watch great views as the Pacific breeze enlivens you while sipping an ice cold drink at the restaurant or bar. There will be an huge tropical pool with swim up bar and private cabanas later this year.
