I stayed in room 3 on the ground floor and I thought the experience as a whole was alright, gets the job done if that’s all you need. There were some things I thought were a bit strange however. The shower was the main thing, it was stuck on full power which was crazy fast. It also didn’t stay in place because it was so powerful and kept turning into the wall. When I had pointed it facing out, it would point to the window (which was in the shower) and begin to fill up the window sill. Additionally, the sliding door had broken and it was replaced with a flimsy shower curtain which Barry managed to cover the gap. The room was a little dark but other than that was fine. The bed was fine too. Dinner is room service or you can have it in the bar area if you’d like. There isn’t a restaurant however and the bar area isn’t incredibly suitable for a meal with a family, fine on my own though. The menu consisted of pub food and each item was between £11-15 for the majority. There is a pizza and alcohol deal for £15 which is what I had, which was fine. Breakfast was £11.75 I think and was a buffet in one of the service rooms and was pretty good. Overall I think my experience was pretty poor but the room was very clean and the staff were very helpful and polite

Had accidentally booked the room for 1 person so they charged us for a second breakfast. Fine. However they were informed of the horrendous noise the pipes made whenever the toilet was flushed. Went on for over twenty minutes on on occasion. It was noise and happened when toilets flushed in other rooms. Would have been nice to have more than a “Oh sorry about that” since it affected sleep. Room was dated and smelled of smoke. Breakfast was way overpriced for how poor it was. Definitely would not visit again

The property looks unique and quaint which it is and is in an idyllic area. The room however was dated, the bathroom old and tired, and my room was between the cleaning cupboard so it was noisy and inappropriate. The bed was comfortable but I would recommend bringing your own pillows as the ones provided feel very lumpy and cheap. It’s a shame because it has so much potential to be great, but is let down by lack of care and upkeep for the price they charge.

I stay in hotels 4 times a week - these were the best pillows I'd had for a long time. Otherwise not brilliant but a very quiet location, great access so good value really.

Unfortunately, the radiators in the bedroom and bathroom didn't come on at 06.30am When I got into bed, I could feel the springs on the edge of the mattress. Nit a goid nights sleep, could do with the mattress renewing. I told the receptionist when I checked out, a very pleasant lady. She said that the heating came on at 5am, but obviously not in my room! As I waited for my taxi, I asked for a coffee which was brought promptly. She came back after 5mins to see if i needed a refill which I gratefully accepted. When it was time to leave, I was charged £2.50. After my complaints, I expected not to be charged, so the whole stay was very disappointing to say the least!

All the staff were so friendly & helpful. Great value for a lovely location & building with great character.

I stayed in room 15 , which was a twin . Access was up a narrow staircase, which I understand as it’s a very old building. You access the room through two doors. The room is located in the attic part of building. With being tall I kept bumping my head on the ceiling. The beds were too small and old, as my legs hang over the bottom. The bathroom is very tired and was not cleaned. I injured my foot on a screw sticking out of the Lino floor which was protruding when acceding the bathroom. I Managed stop the bleeding. When making a drink , the two cups were v dirty. It’s a great shame about the room as it is v out- dated, as it is a beatful building as the rooms need updating . Kind regards
