Great place to travel with friends or family. Close to a lot of restaurants and fun activities.

Great location,the wifi wasn’t working and was a huge convenience and the staff didn’t give any updates to when it will be fixed.The restaurant staff was clueless during breakfast,the 2 bedroom unit was very nice laid out and the views from the balcony were amazing.The property has huge potential they just need to hire professionals to run the place!

Avevamo una Villetta intera a nostra disposizione. Due camere e due bagni giganti, con una terrazza verandata è un salotto con cucina. Il servizio massaggi in camera è stato un toccasana dopo qualche ora di macchina per raggiungere l’albergo. Personale gentilissimo e colazione ricca, buona e in ambiente lussuoso. Non era possibile cenare in albergo, ma le opzioni offerte dallo staff ci hanno fatto vivere un’esperienza culinaria interessante in altra location.

No restaurant only breakfast/light snack room. Closed in the evening. Don’t assume you will have a safe. Shown two rooms with no safes. The staff are great and a safe was fitted but so much time was wasted. The pool was not clean and very small. Breakfast was basic and disappointing. Great coffee. Too far from town to walk. The two bedroomed apar**ent we accepted was good but the furniture was stained.

Absolutely stunning villas set high in the on the foot of the mountains overlooking to gorgeous Franschhoek valley. Staff was super nice and the villa of an extremely high quality. Breakfast was served in a wonderful setting, I really cannot recommend this place enough. We will most certainly be back.

We booked and paid for our unit for 10 nights. The view from the apar**ent has nothing to do with what you see on the website. At best, we could see a slither of lake, electric fencing and construction scars. The nice people at the reception seemed to think that this wasn’t an issue. We did. The noise of sewer pipe construction was daily, loud and invasive. An overpowering sewer smell emanating from the bathrooms encouraged our guests to leave after 24 hours. The following day we informed the reception who acknowledged the problem and fielded our repeated complaints with the provision of “smelly-sticks” in bottles to mask the stench. The sewer problem was continuous until our early departure. We coped with this with by lightning-speed toilet visits and using the kitchen sink for washing and tooth brushing. We made sure that loo stops were made in local cafes or reception before returning in the evening. We also found that airline earplugs in our noses made showering possible. The hot water worked well though. We had no power back-up for SIX days. They furnished us with two Iittle electric portable lamps and we had to make do with these and the flashlights on our iPhones. Eventually, engineers appeared on day 7, did some work in the garage and then there was light. Day 5 and 6 saw the end of water. There was just a dribble, enough to cook with, but no showers, dishwashing or toilet flushing was possible At this point we asked our second guests to abandon their trip to stay with us as the sewer smells were still unacceptable. The wifi still didn’t work well upstairs (12.6 Mbps upstairs) but the water did. By day 9 the stink was so bad we threw in the towel and left a day early. Enough was enough and we did not feel well. We shared this information and a request for a partial refund with l’Ermitage who responded by saying “sorry” and would do better when we next stayed with them. What a disgrace.

We've been to L'ermitage quite a few times, best accommodation for us so far Franschhoek. The Villas definitely gives a French feel. The staff is always so accommodating, always doing their best to accommodate you in every way they can. Elizabeth was of great help on our last visit!!! Will definitely recommend L'ermitage to everyone... Just one complaint, most of the holiday makers come with low expensive vehicles and the exit road is a bit bumpy... Exit road definitely need some smoothing out or tar or paving. Otherwise the best accommodation in Franschhoek for us.

We booked a lake view, 2 bed villa. It was immaculate. Huge bedrooms. Balcony upstairs and down. View spectacular! Living area lovely. Dining room. Staff attentive and professional. A 15min walk to Franschhoek. Le Petit Ferme 1/4 mile away. View from the rooms was a lake with mountains behind. Perfect.

This was just the best studio apar**ent ever! So spacious and had everything you could want including a washing machine (hotel will supply powder on request) !!! The location is great for a short walk into town. It's a lovely tranquil spot. The breakfast was good too.
