Holiday Inn 朗科恩(Holiday Inn Runcorn)

Good location to Chester and Manchester if you drive. Perfect for a stop if you plan to drive from north to south or south to north and make a stop in here to take a break.

Stayed at this hotel for a night. The location is nice up on the hill and surrounded by greenery. Service was excellent at the front desk and the restaurant. I like the breakfast a lot with food served at the right temperature. Variety is adequate. It is however a different story inside the rooms. One room has the floor lamp not working at all and curtains hanging without the hooks. The shower head was dripping in another room. Dust was all around the outlets of the air-conditioning unit and inside the lamp shades. The shower is so poorly designed that one cannot keep the bathroom floor dry at all after taking a shower. The rotten wood at the bottom of the bathroom door should give some hints. There are not many hotel choices in Runcorn. If the cleanliness can be improved this would be a very nice hotel.

This place is quite far away and not easy to get to the city centre, wouldn't recommend staying here if you don't have a car

I feel for the staff of this hotel. Each person we interacted with was so friendly and kind - but they are battling an ageing building and a substandard provision. For example, the housekeeping person had left us some biscuits with their card - but only one packet for two people. The room was clean but so tired - poorly maintained with marks all over the walls and the bath. A gap in the wall had been repaired and painted a slightly different colour! Only one plug socket on one side of the bed. Tea and coffee is the lowest possible quality and frankly was grim. I was most surprised by the posters all over the hotel saying ‘please rate us more than an 8/10 so the team get recognition’ - seems a really strange way of recognising staff that HI are willing to beg for my praise?! In all, it was fine, really just a bed and a shower but can’t help thinking HI would enable these brilliant staff with more inves**ent in the little touches that would have made me much more satisfied with my stay.

Clean, comfortable and makes you feel like at home. The only thing that wasn’t perfectly right was breakfast. Some of the things seemed that were fresh on Sunday/Monday but then every day they were fresh less and less. Apart from that hotel is absolutely brilliant.

Flew into Manchester and Stayed here with several colleagues to attend a conference hosted at this hotel. On arrival we were told good job you’re here now as anyone much later will have to be turned away as we are double booked! Short story, People were in rooms we were allocated and we walked in on very angry people who were occupying the rooms already. 3 attempts to get a vacant room for one colleague. Staff and management gave generic totally shallow apologies. Rooms were dirty and smelt fusty. I’ve stayed in much nicer hostels to be fair.
