We were blown away by the very high standard of service at the hotel. From the welcome we received on check in, bar staff and restsurant staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Ventnor is lovely and the grounds of the hotel are kept beautifully. Dinner was delicious as was breakfast, which we were lucky enough to take outside in the garden. I can't wait to go back and visit the hotel again.

Stayed for 3 nights for a family birthday. Excellent service, accommodation and a great welcome. Would definitely stay there again when visiting family on the next occasion on the island.

Unrivalled, this place, by far the best hotel on the island and the level of service, quality of food and the wonderfully gentle ambience twinned with its fabulous location makes it simply top notch. We've been coming here for years and its no mean feet that the Royal has maintained these special standards.

We've just enjoyed a 3-night stay at this lovely hotel, and everything was perfect. We were able to enjoy a lovely sea view from our room, which was tastefully designed and furnished in a traditional style, in keeping with the building. The staff were all attentive, friendly and efficient. Parking was easy.

Nice comfy bedroom, excellent dining room, helpful and pleasant staff. Nice garden/s and sea views from our room. Ventnor is well placed to explored the rest of the island.

My wife and I stayed with my parents, now both in their late-80s. We were made very welcome from the outset and my parents were grateful for the reserved parking place since they have disabled blue badges. Food was excellent, the staff attentive and the rooms comfortable. A most enjoyable stay.

The gardens and hotel are beautiful, and it was a very relaxing and peaceful stay. The staff were first-rate, so helpful, kind and friendly. The room was so comfortable and relaxing that I struggled to leave to complete the second leg of my bike ride!

Visited today for Sunday lunch. Every single member of staff were a delight - smiling, courteous and charming - and all youngsters. Two of us the roast beef, which was melt in the mouth perfection. My wife had the nut roast and said it was the best she’s had. The only shame that the large restaurant had only five tables taken. Will certainly go again.
