Nice owners, terrible service - NOT WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY to stay here. Waited an hour for breakfast and still had to leave before it arrived. Shower was a damp drip, had to run it for a few minutes to get hot water, seemed like the owners really struggled to keep up with a busy weekend. Shame, could be lovely if they invested in the basics, would not recommend for the price.

Amazing comfortable place with beautiful decor, we arrived early so couldn't check in but were able to leave our luggage so we could go out for a while. returned to be taken to our room, which was beautifully decorated, the bed was so comfy with extra pillows and a nice thick duvet, the tv is huge and was great, complimentary toiletries was fab as i had forgotten mine, fresh towels and tea making facilities also in the room, it was a quick stay but a defo to return to this hotel. sadly with the weather we did not get to use the pool but this feature does look lovely.

Very pleasantly surprised. The new owners are really going to town, modernising everywhere, from bedrooms to restaurant, lobby, everywhere. Its now a very chic / boutique place. We only had breakfast there but that too was very good, well coked and good portions. attention to detail and eco friendliness is evident too, and the hosts said they will soon be upgrading the outdoor pool to solar powered heating. It's in a really good location, a short walk from the 'world' famous Chine and old village. Coastal erroesion permitting its also a short walk to the beach, the beach lift is also a short walk. Enjoyed our stay here, hosts very friendly, sure to visit again.

Modern hotel in a great location only a short walk to beachfront and old town. Staff were very friendly and Shanklin is a good base to explore whole island.

Great place, has a real identity that stands out from the rest. Owners could not do enough for us during our stay. We were a group of cyclists and the owners ensured we had secure areas to keep out bikes overnight. Lovely food, lovely wine list with a nice pool and sauna, just what you need after a ride around the island.

Comfortable bed and a quiet cosy room. Huge television that takes some time to get used to. Shower not great, takes ages for hot water to come through and flow is pitiful. Breakfast okay, the decorative aspects are unusual and clearly the owners have tried to create something unique. Reception failed to tell us about the code on the key and hotel closed at 10:30 pm so had to call owner for entry. Owners are friendly and welcoming. Good parking in area.

The hotel has a good location and a decent pool. However, the rooms and bathrooms were quite small; the showers were poor and had no pressure and the walls between rooms were very thin meaning we could hear a lot of what was going on in the rooms next to ours. The breakfast was very good however it was not always served with a smile. Overall, we would’ve expected better/bigger rooms and better service for the price. There are lots of other hotels near for far cheaper that we would explore next time.

So, I'll start with the positives; the communal areas are very nice, the location is good for the beach and for Shanklin, there's parking, the pool area is very nice and the pool is heated, the prices are very reasonable - both to stay and for drinks, the breakfast excellent, the TVs huge, and the staff friendly and helpful. Less positive; the toilet seat 'moved', there was only one toilet roll, the shower tray had some suspect 'specks' on it and I couldn't work out how to use the shower, [the stop start button was on the shower head]. There's no lift so I booked a downstairs room but there's a high step to get to it. The room had twin beds, which was fine, although I'd have preferred a double bed, I didn't need one. The quilt, pillows etc were, I think, feather which I am a bit allergic to. My fault I didn't think to call in advance and ask for an alternative,[or check the bed situation] - although there was no alternative offered in the guest services book. The plugs to the phone charger, bedside lamp etc. weren't working and I had to ask someone to replace the extension lead, late at night. There's no fridge, which I missed in hot weather, [although they do offer to store medications etc. ] The window opens a little too wide to feel secure on the ground floor. The curtains are right next to the bed so a little difficult to close. The room is an OK size, not much room if there were two of you tbh. The sink is in the bedroom rather than the, tiny, bathroom. I got used to this. The area was screened off with a large, attractive screen which was difficult to move around but did provide an extra drying option! Housekeeping was minimal - bins weren't emptied and on one occasion it hadn't been done by 4.30 and when they knocked I was resting in my room and asked them to give me 5 minutes - they never came back and I had to ask for a clean cup and saucer, but my glass wasn't replaced! Some of the pictures are rather bizarre but each to their own! All in all generally a pleasant stay and I think the hotel is a 'work in progress' and will be gorgeous in due course.

Nice small hotel with a swimming pool, bar and reataurant. Friendly staff and excellent food served. Only drawback is their wi-fi coverage not extending to my room (#32) at the very rear and top floor of the hotel.
