I don’t know how a hotel gets in this condition. Poor management? Understaffed? The exterior should have been a dead giveaway, but we ventured in anyway. After a nightmare check in, to which none of the staff even gave a “sorry for the trouble” only excuses that they’d been having trouble with ******* bookings not coming through, the hallway was covered in either dry wall or crunched up crackers, our room had dead crickets and moths and general gunk in the corners, there was an extra piece of painted drywall in the corner of the room, trash in the open cabinets, stains on the sheets, and a general layer of dust on everything. We’d already paid and ******* was doing their part to make it right, so we stayed. The next morning our room keys stopped working so we went to get that fixed and a new front desk attendant said, “Oh, you’re paying cash?” I explained that the room was already paid for through *******. She told me it wasn’t showing paid and I’d either need to place a card on hold or pay cash. After a lot of back and forth, her only response was, “well the night people didn’t leave me a note.” All this to say, spend a few more dollars and save yourself the frustration and disgust.
