The Grosvenor Arms was very welcoming and had a lovely buzzing atmosphere. The staff were friendly and efficient. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Very comfortable and relaxing stay. Arrived soaked and cold. Soon warm, dry fed and watered. Bar and restaurant great, and super breakfast too. Rooms are modern, clean, spacious. Able to dry out wet clothes and walking boots! Couldn’t fault it.

We stayed over a 2 night stay…. Friendly and helpful staff ..brekkie was ample and tasty ….dinner very good and great options for my dairy free partner Recommended!

Lovely hotel , ideally positioned. Excellent staff are the highlight . Overall let down slightly by poor food options and not great quality .

Lovely hotel, helpful staff. Enjoyed the town fair and short walks around the town. Shame that kitchen had run out of a few items in the menu.

Stayed here overnight whilst attending a family wedding nearby. The room was very clean and facilities were excellent (Standard room) exceeding our expectation. Staff friendly and welcoming and the bar area had lots of seating to relax into. Service at breakfast was slow but when we received our cooked breakfast it was well worth the wait. The ingredients were very good and this was probably one of the best cooked breakfasts we have had in a hotel ! Well done to everyone at the Grosvenor Arms, we will definitely be returning and will find it easy to recommend you to friends & family

I have used the restaurant here over the years. The food has always been very average and the service not very good. My recent visit on the 5th of May 2024 was particularly disappointing. The service was unsatisfactory, the cleanliness of the restaurant and bar was not good at all. The food was below average and a few tables sent their meals back to the kitchen and two groups walked out of the restaurant. Overall, I have given the restaurant and bar the benefit of doubt over the past few years, but the staff and cleanliness has not improved. I will not be returning and shall find another restaurant in the area as my regular when visiting Shaftsbury.

Have made multiple trips to work in Gillingham and always enjoy my overnight stay in Shaftesbury at the Grosvenor and sleep like a log.
