While we had a great time relaxing and the bars were always great, there were a few bumps that did not feel great. We had issues wtih their transport venue and did not get help. The towels were never there on time and when we asked employees to help, they just told us to wait and didn't seem to care. The food at the italian restaurant was not great but the others were fantastic. The pools were great but needed to be cleaned of bugs more often. The pool at the spa was the highlight and the massages were wonderful.
I just spent 3 days in heaven at the Conrad in Punta de Mita. First and foremost, I got the most amazing upgrade from a Partial Ocean View King to a Beachfront Room King. The room and the beachfront view, including the awesome full moon while I was there, defy description. Then it only got better; I got to meet the staff! Secondly, Osman at the Mezquite Bar was by far, the best Team Member that I met on this trip. He was a gracious host, provided the utmost of customer service and treated me like I was a VIP guest. Next up are Carla, Carlos and Raul at The Spa for their outstanding customer service, Victor, Ever, Omar, Jasmine and Elba for 2 fabulous breakfasts at Arbol, Fabio, the Food & Beverage Captain, Pedro at the Mezquite Bar, Denise, Abigail & Gladys at the Front Desk, Hector in Security and Concierges Estephania & Juan Jose. I am so sorry that my stay was only 2 nights and am already looking forward to planning my next visit. Thanks to all!
Last year, we had an amazing experience. This year the hotel was under construction, therefore the lobby was closed and restaurants were limited. They did accommodate us to use an “outside” restaurant. We made the best of everything. Staff was still amazing. Our first room had an ant problem and I was given a can of raid the first night. After that they were good about changing our room. We booked through Costco and shame on them for not ever notifying us of the construction. I would say this is a great average hotel. Their sister property emotions is disgusting. So don’t bother. I don’t think I will be back, I think there is way better out there for your money. The one thing that does set this resort apart from others is the 2 bedrooms, which is great when you have teenagers.
I have been to this resort 10 or 12 times in the last dozen years. Is it the best? No. Is it big? Is it fancy? No. But is it still the best value for the money in Nuevo. The food is as good as resorts at twice the price. Service is inconsistent but friendly. Pro-Tip: Buy a room on the Royal Level. Better rooms. Top shelf alcohol. An additional restaurant and bar and a pool only for Royal Level guests. Special thanks to Tito and Brenda in Royal Club, Itzel in Main Buffet and Alexis in the Royal Bar.
I would give 5 starts just for “The Nest” restaurant. Special mentions and a big thank you to Nazly, Daniela, Andres, Julio, Roberto for their excellent service. Family-like service with a smile and always ready to accommodate requests. I’d say everyone who worked here made us feel welcome and we ended up frequenting the restaurant just for the service, food and views. 5/5 for the breathtaking views and the delicious Mexican meals. The reason for giving a 4/5 is for the overall family selection itself. While it’s definitely better than the rest of the resort. Pros: access to a nice beach that isn’t crowded, pools are nicer and good small perks / conveniences. Carlos (the butler) made us feel welcome and was always ready to serve with a smile. Room cleaning frequency is way better (by a mile compared to the regular) - thanks to Belen our tireless and excellent cleaner. Cons: Other restaurants (outside of Nest) are nearly impossible to get a reservation on the App, when we managed to talk to someone and get a reservation, we realized the restaurants aren’t even 50% full. It’s not easy to get a hold of folks on the phone from the room, but when you meet them face to face they are ready to help. Non-family selection areas: Before we upgraded we had constant badgering from the palladium attendants who wanted us to do a walking tour to get some free spa coupon. Service at the regular resort (not family selection) was minimal - tough to catch a hold of anyone and SO crowded so we felt the need to “have to” upgrade.
