霍爾茲沃思宅邸酒店(Holdsworth House Hotel)

This was our 2nd year anniversary of having our wedding here. We opted for the 8 course tasting menu....wowzers it was phenomenal. This hotel never fails to be outstanding. The staff are wonderfully polite and helpful. The food is exceptional, Eric the cat is cute and welcoming too.

This is only the second visit to Halifax. Came up for a friend's wedding and stayed at the venue. On arrival we were greated with a smile. The team are very friendly and create a family atmosphere. Room was very clean and offer tea and coffee. Towels provided. We only had breakfast but it was served with a smile. Although sat near the kitchen entrance, it was great to hear all the staff behind the scenes having fun and enjoying each others company. As a wedding venue the team behind the bar were very helpful. The resident DJ catered for everyone creating a party atmosphere. Food again delicious and plenty of it. Actually found a new cider I love. Plenty of parking available. If you need to fill up the car Morrisons was not far away at all. Overall 10/10 for the venue. Thank you team for a great stay. Very much appreciated. 😎

Generally very good. Room was in modern wing, compact with sloping attic roof. TV signal was weak (apparently the transmitter) - it would have been a good idea to tell us this at check-in. Dinner was excellent although I did not particularly like our table's location which felt like it was in a corridor. Curiously there was no tablecloth on the table at dinner but there was at breakfast. Having lived in Halifax previously it certainly aspires to be the best locally.

Used a voucher I was given for a cream tea Spent a lovely couple of hours in the garden Staff very attentive The lady who booked us in said there was a wedding party in the garden and if we wanted we could have sat in the restaurant (where they had also set up a table for us ) The gardens are very well maintained Food and drink excellent Will definitely return

As a fan of Happy Valley and Last Tango in in Halifax We booked afternoon tea, amazing service by Jordan. Food very fresh and amazing location. Enjoyed meeting locals too! Historic location and we had wonderful weather

Overall the stay was ok. On this day there was a wedding, we stayed in room 31, with the windows facing the parking lot. There was a lot of noise until late. Dinner was good, we liked the quality. In terms of accommodation, the bed was not so comfortable and the room was very hot, we had to open a window where all the noise from the wedding came from. Breakfast quality could be better

We celebrated our wedding at Holdsworth House last Sunday and I we can say is ‘Wow ‘, it was the best day ever! From booking the venue to the actual day, everything was planned and agreed so effectively and professionally. On the day, everything went so smoothly, the food was amazing, all the staff working on the day were friendly and discreet and couldn’t do enough for us or our guests. Tracey and Jonathan who were the co-ordinators for the day were fabulous! All the bedrooms were clean, spacious and very comfortable.Breakfast which was made to order was hot and delicious. We have no hesitation in recommending Holdsworth House for an overnight stay. If you are planning a wedding this is the place to visit as a ‘must see’ venue as you will be blown away! 8 course taster menu WOW!!! Myself and my husband had the most wonderful evening being wined and dined. Such a warm atmosphere created by the staff. A beautiful place I will never tire of visiting. History, beautiful food and smiling faces, what more could we ask for. Thank you HH

Beautiful traditional hotel. Pretty rooms with comfy beds. Very nice restaurant with good food including a separate vegan menu and gluten free choices. Lovely service. Very friendly staff. Small but lovely formal gardens. And a nice cat!
