Laasenhof度假村(Laasenhof Resort)

Hotellet ligger dejligt og i god gåafstand til vandreruter og Elben. Hotellet er pænt (dog ikke et resort) og meget venligt personale. Vi havde 2 overnatninger men der blev ikke redt senge eller skiftet håndklæder mellem overnatningerne. Maden er bestemt ikke noget at skrive hjem om.

The rooms are as shown in the pictures but they are small. We had an apar**ent and I would say they are compact similar to a caravan. It has a pretty setting, sadly the weather was not great so the pool was closed which was disappointing. Staff were lovely and friendly, but they were obviously not enough so slow service and those that were there were not really able to advise on the local area. We did have a meal which was nice. In general it’s ok

We arrived by train which was less than ideal as it is up a steep hill. Best to come by car. Having arrived there it was an ideal retreat and handy for a visit to the Bastion Bridge. Also has great views over Saxony Switzerland.

Beautiful place with great views. I would stay again. Stayed in Falkenstein with two kids. A little too small for three people and the sofa bed was not good. Also no fridge/mini bar in the room for basic supplies. Also no electric kettle - but the proprietor provided one when I asked for it. I will go for an apar**ent next time. Garden and pool are very child friendly. We enjoyed them both very much. Menu in the restaurant (closed Monday and Tuesday) looked quite “grown up” to my kid’s taste, so we didn’t eat there in the evenint. Service a bit snippy, but nothing I couldn’t live with, I got the impression the proprietor was quite overworked and stressed. Not really sonething I want to deal with on vacation. But I did feel sorry for her. Note that you can walk to Bastei (via a small ferry to Rathen) but driving to Bastai takes 45 minutes. And you are half an hour from Bad Schandau by car. The train runs by the river and can take you where you want - it is ten minutes down a lot of stairs to get to the train.
