I recently stayed at this motel and wanted to share my experience. Overall, my stay had its ups and downs, but there were a few areas that need attention. Here's a breakdown of my observations: Important Information for Guests: If you are sensitive to car sounds, I recommend requesting a room at the back to avoid disturbances from the busy roadway nearby. Positives: 1. Early Check-In: The front desk staff accommodated my early arrival due to a rescheduled flight, which was greatly appreciated. 2. Free Coffee: They offer complimentary coffee, a nice perk to start the day. 3. Responsive Staff: When I had issues with my initial room, they promptly moved me to a different one. They also allowed me to check out early without any hassle. 4. Cleanliness: The bedsheets were clean, and the bathroom fixtures were regularly maintained and cleaned. 5. Attention to Detail: I witnessed staff vacuuming the carpets thoroughly in rooms that were being prepared, which demonstrated their commitment to cleanliness. 6. Comfortable Bed: The bed provided a comfortable night's sleep. 7. Friendly Staff: The staff members were polite and friendly throughout my stay. Negatives: 1. Cigarette Odor: Unfortunately, my first room had a strong cigarette smell, which was unpleasant and unexpected. 2. Water Damage and Mildew: The second room I was moved to had noticeable water damage and a mildew smell in the bathroom. However, the rest of the room smelled better. 3. Inadequate Power Outlets: There were few power outlets in the room, and the available ones had poor grip, causing power cords to frequently disconnect. I had to reposition furniture to keep them in place. 4. No Free Breakfast: It is important to note that there is no complimentary breakfast as advertised on TripAdvisor and Google maps. However, I appreciated the availability of free coffee during my stay. Suggestions for Motel Owner/Management: 1. Inspect for Water Damage and Electrical Wiring: Regularly inspect the rooms for any signs of water damage and outdated electrical wiring. Addressing these issues promptly is crucial to prevent further damage and potential revenue loss. 2. Update Information: Regularly check and update the motel's information to ensure accurate and up-to-date details are provided to potential guests, preventing unnecessary disappointment. 3. Implement Scheduled Deep Cleaning: Establish a scheduled rotation for deep cleaning to address hard-to-reach areas such as under heavy furniture and glass covers of provided desks. 4. Preemptive Odor Assessment: Before assigning a room to guests, thoroughly assess for any odors, particularly for a no-smoking facility like yours. This consideration will be appreciated by guests with asthma or those who dislike the smell, while still maintaining a pleasant experience for smokers. I was not able to sleep much because the heater in the room was too loud/noisy every time it came on.

We stayed over here to attend a wedding nearby. Wonderful experience!!! The rooms were spacious, clean, cozy, and affordable! Very easy to find too when driving down the Jericho Turnpike. Betty at the front desk is the sweetest lady, such a delight who made sure our rooms were ready to give us time to get ready for the wedding. HIGHLY recommend this hotel if you need to stay over in this area of Long Island!!

We were very satisfied with our stay here. The woman in the office was very nice. The rooms were very clean and nice and the price for a week-end stay was excellent. It was also very quiet. All in all, I would highly recommend this motor lodge.

Betty was the BEST!!!! She really cared about our concerns and needs. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Really good parking and lobby had just about anything you needed. Would highly recommend the Whitman Motor Lodge if you are in that area. Once again Betty thank you so much!!! P.S. Also, very good room rates.

Had a two night stay there - was quite happy with location, price and standards. It's an old-school motel that's been well-renovated and while it lacks a lot of amenities, there's good bedding, good WiFi and decent coffee.

I went to a wedding in East Northport with my husband and another couple and needed a place for the night. We could not have asked for a lovelier motel experience. It’s not the Four Season so expecting luxury from a roadside motel would be ridiculous. But expecting cleanliness and good service is what we all desire from any accommodation. Whitman delivers! It’s an older small motel that has been renovated and is clean, super cute and totally hospitable. The owner (Betty I think) was SO LOVELY. She was funny and kind, a departure from normal customer service experiences, even at high dollar locations. Their vending machine was down and when I needed a cold beverage I was directed promptly and kindly to the 7/11 which is 200 feet away. My Apple Watch dropped off its charger and we didn’t realize it until after check out. Betty was helpful and kind working with the cleaning lady to find the watch, which they did. Honestly, places like this are diamonds in the rough and we should cherish them. We can afford more expensive hotels but why pay for that when you can get BETTER service and totally comfortable digs here? If I’m ever in the area, I’ll be back 100%!

I must say that we came to The Whitman Motor Lodge because it was the last room available in Huntington; we were moving the next day. As we entered the lobby, we knew that it would be ok - turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Charming Betty the concierge was so friendly and engaging, she is a big plus to this business. Our room was very clean with a larger than expected bathroom & linens were better than most we’ve experienced in this price range. Thank you Betty! Cheryl & Jeff

I stayed here June 8 and 9 based upon favorable reviews on trip advisor and Bookings.com. A big mistake. I arrived on June 8 tired from a day of travel. I was given room 201 which was a end unit as I asked for a quiet room. The first tip off should have been the smell of vomit outside the room--thankfully this was washed away by a hard rain over night. Inside, the room was gross--dust on lamps, etc.. Then when I flushed the toilet, it took two flushed to get any tissue down. I was tired and stayed the night. The next morning, I went to reception to get coffee--broken coffee machine. The receptionist also told me she had just called the police as a person was asleep on the side walk outside a room. I went to get coffee at a 7-11 close bye, talked to a day time manager about the slow toilet and was told he would deal with it. Came back late after a full day in New York and noticed abrasions where I guess a drain snake was run down the toilet. Next morning after I had a shower, the toilet backed up. Guess he pushed the problem further down the line. They should have called a plumber , pulled the commode and done the job correctly-at least they should have offered to move me to another room. You should not stay here. A dump.
